Description: Blacksmith's Kitchen is a cosy estate restaurant, secretted away in the historic blacksmith's cottages on Pearl Mountain. Constructed in 1747, these two buildings predate the Manor House by some 70 years, and great effort has been take to preserve their original character. Indoor and outside seating are available, offering spectacular views of the Paarl Valley below. Executive Chef Douglas Adams’s menu is a fusion of classic Mediterranean and local influences, and all effort is taken to use the best locally-sourced fresh produce - including from the Pearl Mountain vegetable garden. Both of the Pearl Mountain wine ranges are also available from the wine list, or from the cellar door.

Nice venue, beautiful view, good wine. I have "build" my own pizza and the thin base pizza was jammies as all the other dishes ordered by the other guests. Nice variety of dishes available and we all enjoyed the outing.

The fire place was going, which created a nice warm atmosphere! We drank some if their gorgeous wine, while having a small snack platter. The staff are very friendly. Can't wait to go back.

After a looooooong day of shopping & driving I decided to check out this restaurant (up the street of my Ouma's house) which, according to my almost-90-year-old ouma is a little hiddem gem of a restaurant with a view (she also mentioned she wanted a picture of that precise view on her memorial leaflet oneday).

So, up the road we go (with huuuuge scepticism) on a bit of a dirtroad, past a farmer and his dogs on the tractor... until i looked out of my window just as we came to a halt.

Blue mountains, sunset and the whole of Paarl stretched open in front of us.

Wine, cocktails, pizzas AND Cake - loved every thing we ordered. We were also welcomed by the friendliest host and served by a fantastic waiter (who might have to learn his wine a little bit better).

What a cool - undiscovered place!

Prompt, attentive and friendly service throughout a busy lunch sitting. Pizzas were just tbe way I like them: thin crisp base topped with quality ingredients. Served sizzling hot! Great coffees followed a relaxing meal!

There are two seating areas inside; one with a fireplace. The outside area, overlooking the valley and vineyards, would be marvellous in summer. The restaurant is situated some way up the side of the mountain (still within the town borders), so the views really are magnificent. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming.
Plentyful parking space available.

Thank Ilse G
