On our way to Cape Town we stopped off to go to the ostricht farm and stayed over night at the Queens Hotel. It was like going back into the past (King George stayed here with his wife Queen Elizabeth and daughters Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret in the 1940's). A very nice place although the bedroom and bathroom were small. The staff were very nice and the food in the restaurant was good although service was very slow. We were rather annoyed by a very rude Englishman who took a very aggressive way of expressing himself at the delay. What an odious little man, I do hope that the staff realised that he was the exception rather than the norm to the way Brits behave! All in all a very nice (and different) stay.

Thank you for the review. We are used to certain individuals that are always complaining and are always right. Don't worry about your English reputation. We know he is the exception.

Hotel is in a good location. Rooms were clean and comfortable, really great shower. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Nice pool area and courtyard where you can have drinks or breakfast in the morning.

This was our 2nd stop on the Garden Route, the hotel was easy to find and reception gave us a nice warm welcome, car parking is at the back of the hotel.

The room was ok, bit on the small side, the bathroom had been updated, however, could do with some more improvements, Shower shelf a little to high, and there was no storage or shelf in the main bathroom for your toiletries.

Breakfast was ok, you felt a little left out if you were not part of one of the big touring coach parties and food was snapped up quickly.

I think it was a little over priced for what they provided.

Vivienne,

Thank you for your feedback. The bathrooms have just been upgraded and finer details such as the shelves are being attended to. There is a space in the shelf below the hand basin for the toiletries.

This is a lovely little town and the hotel was quite charming. It was very quiet with great air conditioning which led to a good nights sleep! The dinner buffet was quite sparse though; certainly nothing to get excited about.

Carol,

Thank you for your review. I am glad that you enjoyed your hotel. You should have ask for more food at the dinner buffet if it was getting sparse. I will talk to my chef.

A good base for staying in Oudtshoorn. Room whilst not overly large was comfortable and the shower was exceptionally good. Pleasant public rooms , helpful staff and nice terrace overlooking main road. Pool had seen better days but acceptable. Plenty of restaurants within a stone's throw.
