We came to Oudtshoorn in the search of better weather and found the best host ever to introduce us to the beauty of Little Karoo! Both Magda and Christo took care of us with daily trip suggestions that where always on point, making sure to give us an umbrella without even asking and gave us the heartiest welcome into a guesthouse ever.
Rooms:
We booked a room with a king sized bed and a veranda, which was nicely decorated, clean and the bed was really comfortable.
Breakfast:
We got a menu to order our warm breakfast upon arrival and each night. Apart from that there is a buffet with fresh fruit, yoghurt, fresh cereals and sweet treats. Everything was really tasty and good.
Pool:
After a day out in the semi desert of Little Karroo you can take a swim here and feel completely refreshed
Location:
The guesthouse is located directly in the city centre of Oudtshoorn, so there are a few restaurants in walking distance. Additionally you can do a walk to look at the houses from the „ostrich era“ available ready for you in the guest map of the room.
Little Karoo:
There is a lot to do here, going to Ostrich farms and learning everything around the Ostrich Business, the Caves which are pretty impressive and then of course the landscape around here. Our hosts send us to look at Swartbergpass and the Red Hills and it was impressive! We loved it.
To sum it up, this Guesthouse and also Oudtshoorn is worth to spend more then just one day on your stop over to and from the Garden Route
