The lagoon itself is lovely, but of course it has become a tourism magnet, with hundreds of holiday homes on Thesen Island and round most of the lagoon.

Mussels, oysters, fresh fish, warm water and an idyllic view, the lagoon is a small paradise for everybody. I recommend to rent a boat or make a small tour in the lagoon.

The featherbed nature reserve had a lot of great sights and is a must see for all birdwatcher who visit the area.

Bustling harbour with shops and bars galore.

Area for the rich to live in.

We sailed around the lagoon on a small sailing boat which alos provided us with lunch, cannot remember the name but similar to a pirate ship name. The views around the lagoon were beautiful and the properties must have cost a fortune. it was a very peaceful couple of hours.

A drive up to the Knysna Heads gives a really good view of the whole area. Well worth the time and effort.
