Beautiful location with cottages located in the gardens

Excellent welcome & all the staff are superb, especially the larger than life "Mr Jeffrey Splendid" with his phrases at breakfast of "Fresh, lovely chubly, wunderbar & many more"

The accommodation is first class & don't miss the smallest pub in Knysna, The Bell which is near the main property

Would highly recommend

Lovely cottage.
Breakfast with a beautiful view.
Great pub for evening meals.
Very warm reception and service from Mr Jeffrey.
Good place for families.
Robberg peninsula great place for an all day walk - only take the long route if you have good walking shoes and are happy scrambling over rocks/cliffs - not recommended for children under 10. Take your binoculars - we saw seals, a sealion, a shark and lots of whales.
Whale watching trips in Plettenberg bay also recommended.

Belvidere has an idyllic location with well kept gardens, lake views, quaint cottages, helpful and friendly staff, quality and value meal options (on site) in pub or restaurant. Loads of space in cottages, heaters and log fire (well stocked with wood) for cooler evenings, electric blankets on bed, plenty of hot water, fully equipped kitchen if you want it, lovely breakfasts on sun soaked terrace. Has everything for a great stay. And so peaceful overnight. Had 2 nights at Belvidere but would suit for a week if looking to fully explore Knysna and surrounds.

Room Tip: All cottages are good and similar views.

From booking in to booking out - our experience at Belvidere was pleasant. The accommodation was adequate(Cottage 3) . The shower works well but is pretty tired looking - grouting a bit grotty. We ate at the Bell restaurant, which was a good pub meal. Breakfast was served well - despite a tour bus crowd. The staff are most accommodating and friendly.

The property is beautiful, though the cabins are pretty basic. It was a little chilly in the evenings. I am sure its lovely in the summer, but we did feel the cold. The breakfast is good, and we loved the pub. Great food and quite reasonable. I agree with a previous reviewer, there did not seem to be any managers around.

Thank you for your response and we are glad you enjoyed our beautiful surroundings. I'm sorry we didn't meet but we were attending our trade shows over the period of your visit. We do have a Duty Manager in the office at all times and she would have been able to assist with any problems you may have had.
