Owner description: The walk follows over 1km of wooden board walks and bridges across streams and is entirely wheelchair friendly and ideal for the elderly wanting to visit the forest. There is a number of wooden benches and tables along the trail to sit, snack, picnic or enjoy your 'padkos'. Water and ablution facilities.

Quite a drive beyond Plettenburg - but once there do the Monkeyland as well. Initially on entry there appear to be very few birds but as the trip progresses the birds increase in numbers quite dramatically - a very enjoyable visit

There's a board-walk that meanders through the forest with beautiful scenery and bird watching.
There's also a market with African style products on sales and towards the right side with the N2 behind you, there are some incredibly tall trees.
Perfect for an afternoon with a picnic basket.

I'm not really into birds but the whole experience was wonderful, it's set in beautiful grounds and the walk round is so interesting.
There's also a lovely little café where we had a yummy afternoon tea

Fantastic! Go at your own pace through the trees on a wooden path that takes you past a waterfall and across a wooden bridge. See the birds close up at feeding time around the bird feeders and see them fly from tree to tree. Walk among the flamingos, ducks and ibis. Such a sight to see. End your walk by the water at the cafe for a cappuccino or milkshake. You make see some baboons to and from the sanctuary along the road.

There is no better way to get close up and personal with wild birds flying free than at Birds of Eden. This unique location offers a massive covered in valley with board walks to wander witness some amazing bird life most wonderful of all are the Knysna Lorrie, indigenous only to the Knysna area and the most beautiful birds. A wonderful way to spend an hour or two.
