Our stay at the Mount Knysna was simply one of the best hotel experiences we have ever had. All of the five rooms are well-appointed and have breathtaking views. The staff members are friendly and courteous and go out of their way to look after your every need. We were surprised to have a well-stocked free mini bar in our room, but even more surprised when we were brought a complimentary tray of cheese, crackers, fruits, etc. The dining room is intimate, but at the same time is adjacent to an open kitchen where we watched and spoke to the chef as he prepared our meal. The food was sumptuous - I awarded him a Michelin star. It was so good we did not consider eating anyplace else. The manager helped us find a hike in Robberg Park that was difficult but spectacular. If you are going to Knysna, I can't imagine a better place to stay..

As a Knysna resident, I am feeling very protective and guarding jealously this recent find of Mount Knysna ! I want to keep it all to myself and friends, as we are 'starved' of lovely places to eat in an evening, and to be entertained in the winter months.
However, I promised the fabulously efficient manager Peter, that I wouldn't be so selfish as to do that and would write a short
review !
We have had dinner and a movie evening here to date and both have been quite exceptional.
Ferdi cooked the most delicious dinner, served in elegant, comfortable and homely surroundings. All the staff are very welcoming and efficient .
The movie evenings are a star attraction , a movie of your choice with wine and popcorn and then gourmet burger in your private bar area after the movie. What could be better ?

We look forward to being able to welcome you back for another gourmet evening of entertainment in the near future.

It's rare to come across a boutique guest house with it's own little gem of a restaurant where the food and service is really world class - that's what you get at The Mount Knysna! I write this as a very experienced travel writer, so my praise doesn't come lightly. And the views! Go while it's still light to admire the outstanding vista of the Knysna lagoon from up high. In fact it's as high as you can go at the top of the cliff known as The Heads. The locals are only just getting to know about Mount Knysna...I told some of them and they are going to treat themselves. You should too!

Room Tip: All rooms have fab views.

Dear Safaritart
Thank you for your very flattering review of your visit to The Mount Knysna. All our staff understands and tries really hard to provide a service and product that has most guests very pleasantly surprised by their experience. We have the most wonderful position with what must rate as the best views in Knysna. We look straight out the Heads and also back over the beautiful Knysna Lagoon and Outeniqua mountains.
I will be certain to pass on your compliments to them.
kind regards
Peter Dale

I was recently treated to dinner at this beautiful luxury boutique hotel overlooking the Heads of Knysna. from the moment we walked in and were welcomed by the attentive staff, we fell into the lap of understated luxury. The hotel is built on several levels, each boasting spectacular views of the sea and cliffs that define Knysna. The pool deck has a lovely rim flow inifinity pool and although the hotel only has 5 rooms it has a private cinema and restaurant with a fabulous wine collection. The food, prepared by chefs Ferdi Tiny and Zen, is wonderful - For starters we enjoyed mushroom risotto, Springbok carpaccio, Figs and gorgonzola. For mains our party enjoyed prawn pasta, ducks breasts and beef fillet - all perfectly cooked with well-balanced flavours. Finally, Creme Brulee and yoghurt Pannacotta rounded off our delicious meals.

Room Tip: All the rooms are stunning.
