Myself, my husband and parents had a wonderful stay at the Harbour House Hotel. We stayed for 4 lovely nights and really enjoyed every moment.

The staff were extremely accommodating, friendly and went out of their way to assist where possible. The views from the pool area are just gorgeous and the setting is truly lovely. Our room was very modern and spotless. The rooms were also cleaned early in the mornings so we always came back to a clean room after breakfast.

The food at the hotel was divine. We only had great experiences with all our meals. The breakfast in the morning was always fresh and tasty and all our other meals ordered for lunch were delicious.

All in all this hotel is a winner. The location is definitely one of the biggest perks as you have the most outstanding views and you are so close to other restaurants, beaches and shops. You definitely get what you pay for and we hope to be back in the near future.

We are travelling as 3 generations of a family, my father is about to turn 80. When we checked in we were given rooms on 3 different floors in 2 different buildings despite having requested being together, they said they were full so we accepted the situation and settled in. The next day after returning from the beach at 4pm my father went to rest in his room feeling unwell. As we passed through reception the staff casually mentioned he had to move out. We asked why and they said some new guests had requested that specific room. We pointed out that we were already checked in, he had unpacked and no one had warned us this would be the case. All shrugged off. Asked to see the manager who would not give way and blamed Trailfinders. We managed to get hold of Trailfinders (on New Year’s Eve) who said this was nonsense and not to budge. The manager was prepared to drag an old man out his bed but we flatly refused. A very stressful few hours followed while Trailfinders got involved. We asked to be kept informed of developments but the manager never contacted us. When we went back down they said it was fine. No apology.
There were other minor issues, but that really put a spoiler on our stay. I would not recommend this hotel.

After reading many mixed, and negative reviews about The Harbour House Hotel, I was worried as to what we would find when checking in. We were lucky to get the last vacant parking space right outside the entrance to the Hotel. I gather it's called 'secure parking' only because the desk staff are able to see the cars from the front desk. It appears there are different rooms, in different premisses. Our room, was 'The Romantic Room' It was on the ground floor with lovely views of the bay. It was rather a shock to find that apart from the toilet everything else (Bed, bath, wash basins, shower) are all in one room. Not something we are used to. The room was clean with everything we needed, including robes (dressing gowns) There were two portable radiators which saved the day as it was quite cold while we were there at the end of October. The breakfasts were as expected with a selection of hot and cold food. The staff were very friendly and the Manager kindly booked the Roben Island Tour in Cape Town for us. The area is very appealing and has a busy feel to the town with a lot going on. The hotel is situated right on the road and close to the Bay for Whale watching. During our three days in Hermanus,we had been unlucky with no sightings, but the morning we were checking out the lady on the desk said "There are Whales in the bay, now". It was such a treat to finally see and photograph them. We left feeling very content having seen what we came for. It was an enjoyable visit.

Room Tip: the Romantic room offers a good view, it's quiet and on the ground floor.

My friend and I stayed 1 night in Hermanus on our road trip in South Africa and were unfortunately disappointed with our stay. We were given a room which was at street level of a busy street and opposite restaurant and bars and also next to the lift. Upon on entering the room I went to reconfirm and requested to be moved which they were unable to accommodate. Whilst the room itself was pleasant with lovely l’occitane toiletries We had the worst night sleep of our trip as loud disco music played until beyond 1am and it’s beats pounded through the balcony windows. Breakfast was good with a lovely view of the ocean. If staying here I’d recommend booking a quiet room on the front of the building.

We were very happy with our stay. Stayed in the Luxury rooms overlooking the sea. Rooms were large and comfortable with balconies.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good and lying around the pool was blissful.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view room.
