I have visited the Mead Café many times. Only once was I
disappointed with their food, and it was their Niçoise salad, which had too many clashing flavors.

Overall, the food is consistently delicious, well prepared, and beautifully presented. By the way, the Pavlova with homemade ginger ice cream (in the photo) was spectacular!

The café is cozy inside and the patio offers a lovely garden setting.

The service is hit or miss, however. Today for example, the restaurant had maybe six active tables, mostly with two customers. Yet, the coffee, the food, dessert, water, took forever to come to my table.

I hope Management sees this about the slow service, because it takes away from the other positive attributes.

Such a lovely space in George hidden away in the centre of town. The service was good and there is plenty of space to sit down and have a great breakfast.

We only found out about the rear entrance on our third visit, it makes entering with a wheelchair/stroller much easier!

The food is very fresh and great tasty. The coffee was good quality and well priced.

Meade cafe is a cute, quaint, quiet and boutique style cafe. The coffee is excellent and the food delicious. Highly recommend coming here if driving through the town of George and wanting a place to stop.

I went twice in one day, first for lunch then for cake and coffee.

I had the chicken curry, my substitution request for the rice was accepted which was great but the chicken was on the verge of being raw as it still had a slimy texture.

The coffee was awesome but the desserts/cakes my friend and I tried were not so awesome compared to ones I've had elsewhere, the creme brulee was served in a small square ramekin which was cruel for Gimbas like me. If you're a caffeine addict then their 10th cappuccino free card could come in handy if you'll be visiting often.

Overall it was a pretty cool experience, the interior was great, modern and most importantly clean.
