We were very excited to visit Oubaai - the hotel & golf course that the famous Ernie Else is apart of.
We booked our stay via the Hyperli deal and requested a room upgrade to sea-view.
The staff were friendly, but the service is very slow. They take forever to answer the telephone and they are unprofessional (disengages the phone without greeting goodbye).
The room was nice and we had rose petals & beautiful biscuits on the bed. Our aircone in our room did not work and when we reported to reception, nobody came to sort it out. We also found that the balcony was dirty and 2 cigarette butts (from previous guests) were never cleaned - very gross.
One can see that this hotel was once a wonderful spoil, but it has definitely been poorly managed over the passed few years and lost it ultimate luxury touch.
The buffet breakfast is nice. They can definitely look into upgrading the chairs at least (white, stretchy material pulled over chairs - old fashioned).
Overall, it was a good stay. However, the hotel needs to look into upgrading certain areas & ensure that the rooms are clean & in working condition, before checking in the guests. Although we paid a “deal” price, it is important to ensure that guests have a fantastic stay - that way, they’ll return and spread the word/recommend to friends & family.More
