Review of Dalliance

Dalliance
Ranked #130 of 1 226 Restaurants in Cape Town Central
Description: WELCOME TO THE DALLIANCE In the heart of the V&A Waterfront's golden mile is Dalliance, Cape Town's freshest authentic urban eatery. Flanked by the Atlantic Ocean on one side, a bustling kitchen at its heart and shoppers browsing on the other, this spot has it all. Frantic yet sophisticated, absorbing yet chilled out, let the cool chaos engulf you. Oyster shucking, raw juice making, craft beer pouring... there is so much to take in. The decor is chic, simple and considered; industrial meets library, in duck egg blue, copper and wood. Sit back, relax and allow the upbeat jazz to wash over you while the laid-back staff wow you with their gutsy sharing plates, lovely local wine by the glass and stellar cocktails.

An oasis of peace & calm, with a great selection of seafood tapas, tucked away in the V&A mall. We sat at the back where there are great views, beyond the parking area, across to the bay. Staff were attentive, & we ordered a selection of seafood tapas including oysters, calamari, tempura kingclip & some delicious grilled crayfish. This was accompanied by a crisp, chilled Rosé, everything was perfect & we all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch.

Nice quiet little spot to just take a breath in between shopping.

Tucked away around the corner you'll discover a lovely view of the ocean.

We Just had a cocktail and oysters both were very good.

Thank Colette C

Terrible.. and when gave management the opportunity to rectify all we got was a casual shrug of shoulders. Portions tiny. 2 really small lamb chops for R130 .. insufficient for even a 12 year old, no sides included. One guests main course arrived , then another's starter.. both of them finished and then one other guest's main .. 3rd guest never received hers. Decided to call the visit a day. Left and went downstairs for a spectacular meal at Willoughby. When complained to 2 managers separately the one shrugged his shoulders and the other said they are a tapas bar and we are supposed to share.. how 3 people were supposed to share 2 small lamb chops .. not quite sure. Terrible experience. A huge disappointment as we were expecting so much based on them belonging to the Kove Group. Left hungry, irritated and still R380 down for the one main and a tiny salad and one glass of wine. Would never recommend, complete rip off. But most disappointing part is the lack of interest on management's part to even try to rectify. So if want to try it out be prepared for an expensive experience and do not visit if hungry as portion sizes ridiculously small.

Great setting, especially at the back of the restaurant with the views over the bay. Food was perfect for what we were looking for, casual small plates of seafood and meats which we could easily share. Service was friendly and very helpful.

Couldn't fault it for a casual lunch.

Inside the V&A Shopping Center. Nice view when actually walking inside. Lovely place to visit for drinks, and then usually craving for something more, whether it’ll be oysters, flat bread or a seafood dish.
