Description: Saigon in Cape Town has become one of the hot spots. With magnificent views of Table Mountain and their soft, muted lights, Saigon has acquired the perfect ambience. The Vietnamese decor is done elegantly without giving the restaurant a themed feeling. The menu is mainly Vietnamese with Japanese influences. Starters to try includes the Grilled Chicken Skewer and do-it-yourself Lettuce Wraps accompanied with prawns, fresh herbs, noodles and sweet chilli sauce. Some of the more popular Main Courses are the Chicken Cashew Nuts, their Spicy Beef Basil with chilli sauce and the Saigon Ginger Fish covered in a batter. All the Main Courses can be served with rice or noodles. Saigon's exotic Deep-Fried Ice Cream is a must if you have space after your lavish First and Main Courses. The ice cream is deep-fried with a batter casting and then served with their honey syrup. Holding its own between the many restaurants in Kloof Street, this is one of those restaurants were one should book in advance as it is always busy no matter what day of the week it is.

Spontaneously booked an early Friday evening table for a family dinner. Excellent service & food - loved the dim sum - we'll be back for sure!

Hi travelers!! Today is about eating at Saigon restaurant. Nice place withview of a bit of a Table Mountain in the sunny Cape Town. Good food - we ordered wok fried calamari, noodles with sprouts and some cashews, prawn spring rolls, and duck breast with plum sauce and some prawn dumplings. All meals came freshly cooked and served with smile. And have been washed down with some Thai beer))) It was pleasant experience, will eat here again!

Returning from a trip to Vietnam - Saigon was our choice -the food was excellent, the duck better and the service friendly and knowledgeable. We will return when we get nostalgic about Vietnam.

Having had the opportunity to reunite family members from far afield, we decided to visit this restaurant as the we had to cater from vegetarian to carnivore preferences. A friendly welcoming by staff placed us at a table with a nice view down Kloof Street and up Table Mountain. Informed, helpful waitering staff were able to answer all questions on the extensive list of items on the menu and a wide selection of food were ordered. A reasonably wide selection of wines catered for all tastes. With excellent service and smiles around the table we gladly paid the bill for an evening to be remembered and repeated.

We were wandering around Kloof and decided to try...great experience! Their Indochine dumplings are delicious, the menu is long, but has something for everyone. Recommend for some SE Asian food delight!
