We were out walking before our city tour and walked past Loaves on Long and decided to stop for breakfast. We both ordered the "poached" two eggs poached on top of crispy potatoes and bacon then topped with hollandaise sauce and served with a dressed rocket salad. We have been in africa for 6 weeks, and this by far was the best breakfast we have had. On our way out we got an apple rose pastry to go. It was still warm and was amazing. After our long day out to cape point we stopped back in to pick up some seed bread , cheese and deli meat to make dinner.
We have eaten at Jasons Bakery and Loaves on Long is better.
Plus the staff is very nice and you can watch a handsome man make bread while you eat. What more can you ask for?

I've never had a bad experience at Loaves on Long and I'm a regular! I've sampled their breakfast, lunch, catering and coffee and I keep going back for more. The passion that Ciska and Lyndall have for food is evident in everything from the menu to the service and it's great to experience a place with such heart.

First Thursday's sees the restaurant offering visitors a food, wine and art pairing at an affordable price. It's great for a date night because everything is included and the cozy vibe is lovely for couples.

We stumbled on this eatery and what a find, they were just about to close early (as its a holiday here ? ), but they stayed open for us. Then more people arrived so hope it made it worth while for them. We both had poached eggs on potato Rossi, home cured bacon with hollandaise sauce, it was amazing. Topped off with a fresh juice, tea and coffee.
The staff are friendly and we sat out on the upper terrace, we could still smell the artisan bread cooking up here. Make sure you make a detour to come here, you won't be disappointed.
