we went there for dinner. good interior, large dining hall. decent menu but a lot of variations. food was very good, service is decent.

We were there the night that they celebrated their 19th birthday. Well done to them , but they will have to lift their game if they want to survive another 19 years. I went their about 4 years ago and was amazed by the service and the fantastic flavorful food. So I have always told my wife that we should go their someday. What a disaster. The food is well presented but has no flavor. The service was bad and they were not concerned about if we enjoy the evening or not. The prices are higher than the the above average prices for Cape Town.

Everything is perfect about the place. The menu the setting and the ambiance. Now all they have to do is get a decent chef to make them flavorful food again and then I will be back. Looks like they built up a good reputation and think that they can rest on their laurels.

We visited this restaurant (party of four) after a fairly long interval and were not disappointed. It was their 19th birthday and we opted for the set birthday menu which was exceptional value considering the extent thereof, the presentation and really good food. The "Fizz" that accompanied the canapes was yeasty and good. The Celeriac Soup well presented and fragrant, The Cured Duck Ham tasty but a little tough, The Grilled Line Fish (Kingklip not my favourite though) not overcooked and accompanied by a good selection of vegetables, the Roast Loin of Lamb superb and as beautifully presented as the other courses, the Almond Bavarios with Raspberry Coulis rounding off the meal delicately. The service was fast and friendly but the overly attentive waiter repeatedly asked "how we were enjoying our food" - often before we started a plate. The place is a bit noisy but given the wonderful setting in an old (what used to be dockside) warehouse, understandable. A good wine list with some lesser known boutique wines which is welcome and adds interest.We will be back and are keen to try their a la carte menu.

Ambitious restaurant. Friendly, professional service. Modern styled interior with brick walls. Large dining room, when we had dinner there were few guests but when it is full I can imagine the place is rather noisy. Also, we were surprised that, with so few guests, the kudu loin was sold out. Menu on the website is not up to date. Classical menu with not too many dishes for each course, but plenty of variation. Lovely starters, with a perfect ceviche and a very good double baked cheese souffle with pepperoni oil. Main courses were good ingredients, well cooked, but in general lacked some balance. For example, the hollandaise sauce that accompanied my sirloin was perfect but too much and shouldn't be accompanied by a very creamy spinach mash. The desserts were all perfect, from pannacotta with blueberries to creme brulee to the chocolate cake. It is also nice that there is a wider choice from wines by the glass. Although our dinner was very good, it was also expensive and we concluded that for a next visit to Cape Town we probably wouldn't book here again and look for another place that may offer just a bit more surprise and balance. Therefore 4 stars, not 5.

Thank for your kind review. The game is sent from the Eastern Cape so sometimes we have a few days wait for the next supplies. We are shortly to receive some wonderful springbok form a big cull although most of the game is farmed.

I do apologize for the website there has been a technical problem that we are trying to get addressed but there is the option to request the latest menu. As it changes daily what is on the website is purely an example, albeit a very out of date one now.

The creamed spinach is my chefs humorous take on an old fashioned dish and it is also very South African. No grandmother ever served a Sunday lunch without creamed spinach in the farming communities.

We purchase the very best produce. Free range, organic and grass fed comes at a price and I am afraid that is why you might think us expensive. Compared to others who use this level of supplies I assure you we are not.

My family and i ate here in July and we had a very warm welcome from Caroline, who was a friend of a friend from the UK, they had recommended the restaurant to us, along with some others who didn't know Caroline and it did not disappoint. The service was first class, and the food amazing, especially 'The three little pigs'. Lovely atmosphere, definitely recommend.
