During our two week holiday going from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth along the Garden Route, my boyfriend and I stayed at Rose Lodge for three nights.

Location: Rose Lodge is located in Bo-Kaap, which itself is an attraction with its colourful houses. The B&B is in walking distance to the city centre (where you can catch the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus) and also a good location to get a taxi from to places such as Table Mountain, Lions Head, Camps Bay etc. A Spar supermarket can be found 5 minutes away, same as car hire places such as Avis if you are planning to discover the Cape region.

Rooms: The rooms are fairly basic with everything you need.

Service: One thing that really stood out was the amazing service at Rose Lodge. We couldn’t have asked for more. From breakfast to general information on the area, where to go, what to do, how to get there. We were lucky enough to stay at Rose Lodge on a Saturday and meet the owner of the B&B who regularly organises Cheese & Wine evenings for his guests. This was a great chance to meet other travellers, exchange travel plans but also learn about how Rose Lodge came about.

What’s around: There is a Spar supermarket and Avis car hire five minutes walking distance. You will be in town within 10-15 minutes where you can find the oldest market in town, all sorts of stores, bars and restaurants. If you are planning to go a bit further (V&A Waterfront, Camps Bay etc.) you can take the taxi (ask reception for the cheapest option) or the Hop-On-Hop-Off bus, if you have time and were planning to look at a couple of things anyway.

Value for money: Great value for money! We highly recommend it to everyone.

Rose lodge is easily accesable. The room is clean with lovely white linen. Bed and pillows are comfortable.
The staff were friendly and the room had everything i needed. I would definitely make use of them again.

Great space in a great location. In the heart of Bo Kaap with lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The space was clean/tidy and is more a B&B instead of a hotel as it was listed on the site. Housekeeper Daniel is extremely friendly and helpful!

Good room and excellent bed. Breakfast served by Daniel more than excellent. The location in the more than special bo-kaap area is fantastic.Bruce must be a happy man to have this very efficient staff. We will be back.
