What a pleasant experience... very central.. awesome restaurants all around, perfect location if you do not make use of your own transport.

One suggestion.. a porter to assist with luggage, would be helpful.

Had a good time !

I loved my week long stay at this great little hotel. Excellent location, accommodating staff, really lovely rooms, comfy bed and good wifi access. The choice of a few places close by for breakfast made it interesting when you are staying more than one or two nights. And there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from within easy walking distance.

I'd happily stay again on my next visit to Cape Town.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back away from the street are quieter

We were 3 girls who stayed here for 3 nights, returning for a 4th 3 days later. We were originally 2 until our friend decided to join us at the last minute. Not a problem, Hippo very conveniently accommodated us with a comfortable cot in our nice clean and spacious room. We had the room facing front with the long terrace. Although it can be a little loud since there are 2 restaurant/ bars right downstairs, the noise did not bother us. In fact we enjoyed the energy of our little street.

There are little cafes and 2 grocery stores within walking distance on Kloof. Table mountain is also about a 10 minute drive from the hotel...or you can also run it to the base if you're like me :)

Needless to say...we loved the Hippo hotel and will be staying here next time we are in Cape Town!

Room Tip: If you want quiet...ask for the room facing back.

The service was excellent. My loft room was perfect and well equipped. If I could I would live for a longer period in Hippo Boutique Hotel. The location half on the way to Table Mountain is perfect and there is a lot of entertainment around.

I had a lovely time in this cute little boutique hotel. Food was fantastic especially the Mexican themed restaurant. Staff were all very friendly and hotel is in a good friendly neighborhood. It's very close to Victoria mall and close to the famous long street if you like the nightlife.
Will definitely stay here again.
