My entire stay was stellar!

The check in process couldn't be easier. The rooms are exactly as shown on the website, were immaculate and well-functioning. Security was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was amazing. We ate there almost every night of our stay! By choice!!! Every member of staff made us feel welcomed and at home.

The hotel is perfectly located for walking to the Waterfront, Bo Kaap, District 6, the palace, etc.--and I am not a person who enjoys walking! While I wouldn't recommend walking the area at night (nor would I for any other major city in the world), as two female tourists, we felt perfectly safe walking throughout the CBD during the day.

Room Tip: I know a complete 5-star rating seems fishy, but trust me. The property gave me nothing to...

A gem in the heart of Cape Town! Each room is actually a suite or apartment, well and tastefully furnished, giving the guest the sense of "living" in downtown Cape Town. Very well equipped kitchens provide every amenity including a washer-dryer (caveat: get instructions on use since the machines aren't at all like US machines). The staff is amazing in that they are always incredibly upbeat, genuinely happy to help and with big smiles. Dining options are surprisingly varied for such a small restaurant. Breakfasts are terrific buffets with egg-on-demand. Dinners are delicious; the chefs whip up treats that are both unexpectedly delicious and varied. The bar service is wonderful! Location-wise you are within easy walking distance of most everything you could want: V&A Warf is about 15 minutes away on foot, the pubs and bars of Long street are not too far. That said, this being Cape Town, follow the hotel's advice and only walk around by day, Uber by evening. Highly recommend this property for anyone who wants more than a hotel room, but would prefer a Cape Town "experience" of luxury and gracious friendliness.

Room tip: 1. Get instructions on how to operate laundry/dryer machine. 2. Let Barman prepare innovative and delicious concoctions for you.

I had a lovely 82sqm apartment here which had everything that I needed for my business trip to Cape Town.

Half the price of normal hotel rooms and double the space and facilities.

They also had a good gym, good restaurant for the breakfasts, and a good location for getting Uber’s everywhere.

Recommended.

If you want to experience how a hotel from a large chain should be run properly this is the place to go. Not 5 star but much better than many 4 & 5 star hotels we have stayed at. Rooms (apartments) are fully equipped, clean and comfortable. Breakfast is a great standard. Location is excellent – easy walk or Uber to Waterfront and other areas. The staff were helpful and friendly to the last man/woman. The couple of times we needed to call someone (e.g. trying to figure out how to operate a very complex Bosch washing machine) we got immediate and effective attention.

I spent a week here for a work trip, and I have to say that it was an excellent stay. The bedroom - I had one several floors up - was large, quiet and spacious. The room cleaning was excellent every day, and the way the bed was made absolutely perfectly every day is difficult to find, so it was very welcome at the Protea North Wharf. The breakfast was plentiful and I appreciated the eggs station, and also the ability to sit outside on warm mornings with a coffee. Ubers were easy to get most days. The pool was welcome on hot days.

We were fortunate enough to be upgraded to a two bedroom apartment with a balcony. It was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The air con worked perfectly and we were not affected by load shedding. There were large, comfortable sofas and a great kitchen. Breakfast was excellent and staff were friendly and helpful. There was an on site beauty salon, which had reasonable prices. The pool was disappointing -shaded and bleak. Our balcony too lacked any furniture. The hotel was in the business district so a short Uber ride from the Waterfront. There was a pleasant Italian restaurant opposite the hotel.
