My wife and I stayed 12 nights in January. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and offered breakfast despite being several hours before our check-in time. The room was very spacious and well equipped but with no outside space or balcony. The bed was very comfortable with good quality bedding. The Lodge is most unusual in design with an internal courtyard and dip pool equipped with high quality lounges. The breakfast was served on the verandah with a choice of cold and cooked food. The breakfast overall was most enjoyable but at times it was a bit hit and miss in terms of the time taken to order hot food and tea/coffee.
The Lodge has a bar and provides complimentary cakes, sandwiches and chocolate each day. Tea and coffee is always available.
The Lodge provides complimentary beach bags and a selection of personalised tours via their own driver/escort.
The Lodge staff are very attentive and routinely provide a very high standard of service which is rarely found these days.
Occasionally, an evening meal is offered which we enjoyed although there are numerous good quality restaurants nearby.
The Lodge is located in a largely residential area 200 metres from Seaview promenade; a 5 minute walk. We found this to be an ideal location throughout our stay. Free parking is available immediately outside the Lodge which we found to be convenient.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at BH.

Like many reviews I have read previously, I must say this place is absolutely amazing. The staff were all very friendly and made great recommendations about where to eat and what to tour. The set up of the lodge is beautiful with a pool in the centre "courtyard"and a lovely eating area. The rooms come with a small iPad and cell phone (additional cost to use phone)to use if necessary. Our room also has its own private courtyard to use. The breakfasts were fantastic including a continental breakfast that was wide ranging and also a cooked breakfast. It was impossible to eat everything since there was so much to choose from. Loved it here and would stay here again!

We stayed for 4 nights and had the most gorgeous room, with two bedrooms and a large terrace and sun deck - truly wonderful! The staff were so lovely and could not do enough for you - Charlee, Godfrey and all we met. They happily arranged taxis, gave recommendations etc and all in all, it was a memorable stay in Cape Town. We felt that the location was perfect for us to see all that we wanted to in Cape Town. The walk to the V and A took us about 35 mins no is lo on flat ground, so really easy. There were no real negatives that are worth talking about!

Like all the reviews say, this is a hidden gem! We stayed here for 3 nights and we could've been home from home! The rooms are so comfortable, the staff were always smiling, Pearl's breakfasts were amazing and Coco the dog, well, she was an added bonus! Thank you BHL.

Room Tip: They are all so boutique you'd not be disappointed

Amazing, amazing guesthouse - we could not fault them for one thing and would highly recommend! My husband and I stayed here for five nights in October 2016 - he prefers big hotels and was skeptical of a guesthouse, but Blackheath completely won him over. I like trying new places, but if we went back to Cape Town, I would stay here again without a doubt. Delicious cooked breakfast is included in your stay and they made good coffee. Nice little pool and deck, whole place is super clean, resident cute dog, nicely decorated rooms and super helpful/friendly staff. We were so surprised to see the staff diligently cleaning the pool area, even brushing off the pool chairs, every single morning and it was great to sit by the pool and have a tea in the afternoon. There is a local cell phone for use if you need it (we didn't, but nice touch). There is an armed guard outside at night, so felt very safe and they take down your room number so they know you've gotten home safely. Can arrange all kinds of tours and gave great advice (i.e. going to Table Mountain right away bc the cable car had been closed recently due to high winds). Their guide Percy who we used for a whole day tour was awesome and knew everything you could want to know about CPT/SA (very reasonably priced too). They really care about making sure you enjoy your stay not just there, but in CPT. All food recommendations were A+. Felt like we were saying goodbye to family when we left. Do yourself a favor and stay here!
