First stayed here about 20 years ago so surprised to see rooms hadn't changed much at all. If refurbished then at no great cost to the owners. Mostly small niggles though as the view from the lifts of Table Mt is almost worth the price of the stay. Almost.

No hotel info in room, no shaving mirror, no clock, old carpet, no bathroom exhaust fan, water from the showers still covers the bathroom floor after 20 years and no matter how well you place the curtains.

On the positive side the bed was great and the aircon worked very well. WiFi was good and plentiful hot water.

At some time in the past 20 years they've converted one of the best bars in CT to an ordinary restaurant - pity. The foyer bar has no character and watch that you really do get a double - ask the bartender to repeat the shots with water into a larger glass !!

Location OK but as regulars to CT know most happens around the V&A and the Conference centre so taxis required.

Room Tip: Facing Table Mountain and higher the better

This is a large hotel - 32 floor in total. The staff are friendly and do a decent job.
However, the property just does not have much charm. I visited their sister hotel, the Cullinan nearby which had a much better vibe and sense of charm.

The best part of the stay was the breakfast that is included. Breakfast is a variety of fresh, quality foods.

In terms of location, the hotel is central to the business district, and well situated for driving.

Room Tip: upper levels facing Table Mountain are the best

When was the last time you enjoyed breakfast to melodic piano tunes played by a real person? You can here, and it was just lovely. The staff here is friendly and extremely helpful, Henry the concierge was helpful with dinner recommendations, the rooms are good sized and I even had a fridge. Pleasant lounge area. With the drinks were a bit colder, but it's par for South Africa. Breakfast buffet was good with plenty of choices, including freshly made to order smoothies, which were quite good! Central location, although at night you don't want to be walking around according to the hotel staff. Free Wifi is a limited amount which got sucked up quickly and easily (and who wants to pay for wifi these days?). Shower was great if you like some power within the water streams. Bed comfortable as well. I was on 27th floor so had great views of Table Mountain, the V&A Waterfront and city.

The hotel had quite a grand interior with welcoming staff. Rooms were a good size with comfortably soft beds and a shower that was powerful enough to offer exfoliation services.
Breakfast was decent although when offered a table next to a piano being played by a kindly looking gentleman, I declined and was moved to the back of the room. The food was good with an excellent tailor made omelette service.

The staff were ever present and provided a good service (with the exception of a late lunch where the service seemed a little confused and slow).
The 30th floor gym was decent and provided some excellent views.

My only negative advice is to wear shoes in the lobby as my colleague had multipe insect bites on his feet after we sat for an hour for lunch.

Worth a stay.

Just a note to say that the free wifi had a 500MB limit per day which after a few skype calls was used up.

Just spent two weeks at the Cape Sun hotel on business.

The from desk staff were always friendly and helpful. The room was spotless with a comfortable bed. No mini bar or fridge which was a shame, the warm weather and no cold drinks.

Internet in the room was via WiFi. For most of the stay this was fine. However, during the last week DHL had a conference on and took over the place. The WiFi struggled at times.

Food. Breakfast had a good selection of fruits, cereal or cooked. Nice.

Dinner was a buffet. The food was good and fresh. During the DHL week the dining room was closed a number of times for DHL functions. Food was either room service or eating just off the lobby area, again the section of food was from the room service menu.

Laundry service was excellent.
