“Wonderful Hospitality”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 October 2014

My husband and I started our South African adventure in Cape Town with an exceptional four-night stay at Lezard Bleu. We stayed in the Corner Room, which was bright, spacious and had a lovely view of the pool and garden. The honor bar was well stocked with a great selection of local wines and every morning breakfast was a treat! We enjoyed fresh fruit, cold cuts, heavenly scrambled eggs and the great conversation with our fellow guests.

The owners, Christof and Nickki, were incredibly hospitable--going so far as to prepare an incredible tray of cheese and cold cuts for us one evening when we were too jet lagged to leave for dinner. Lucy was also incredibly sweet.

I hope we can return again one day!

Room Tip: The Corner Room was spacious and bright.

Stayed here with a friend after a conference and we wanted to experience a nice quiet retreat instead of the hustle and bustle we had experienced our past few days
The house was easy to find and parking available outside
We arrived to a warm welcome from lizzy and Nikki who showed us around, the place is just lovely, gorgeous decor and a welcome friendly atmosphere
Our room was a twin room on the bottom floor and first impressions were WOW just beautiful. Two double beds, French doors leading onto patio area, sizeable bathroom with walk in shower, hair dryer, ample wardrobe space.....we couldn't fault it, cleaned to perfection each day too
Surrounding areas very well kept and beautiful pool area lovely with amazing view of table mountain behind
There is an honesty fridge for drinks
Breakfast here is simply amazing without doubt the best breakfast I've ever had. So much choice from toast, cereal, meats, cheeses, fruit, yoghurt, any choice of eggs you desire will be made fresh, fresh coffee, tea and juice brought to the table
The owners Chris and Nikki are simply amazing people so friendly and willing to help out choosing restaurants and making bookings and giving sightseeing tips they even looked after my friend one night cooking for her when I was ill
Lizzy and the rest of the staff cannot do enough for you always making sure we were ok
The family pets are lovely and to me it creates a warm friendly atmosphere seeing them around and them coming to greet you
Overall the Lezard bleu is a fantastic guest house and a real gem i would most definitely recommend anyone to stay here it really is a home from home
Amazing people, amazing place and an amazing time I really really hope to return here someday I was so sad to leave

After a hectic 3 weeks in Joburg, this place was a slice of heaven! Set amidst lush gardens overlooking a pool and run by the most lovely people, I would not stay anywhere else in Cape Town. The rooms are beautiful, each with a balcony looking up to the mountain. The breakfasts are to die for. I could while away many days here, a pure sanctuary.

Thank you very much, Danielle, you really deserved some rejuvenating time after your great deed up North. Trust you still had some exquisite time in SA together with your partner. All the very best for your studies and goals.

We stayed here for a week as part of our honeymoon and used the guesthouse as a central base to explore around the cape area. We booked into the tree house and were not disappointed. Nicki and Chris made us feel at hime from the first moment we arrived and the treehouse was actually better in reality than we could have believed from the pictures and reviews. Breakfast was both plentiful and varied, catering for all tastes. Suggestions and advice on trips, tours, directions and attractions was always available without being forced on you, and advice on the many eating establishments was great. The location was beautiful, sitting close to the base of table mountain, with beautiful views across the city on 1 aspect and back up table mountain from another. It was also a short walk down into downtown Cape Town which was great for those who liked to get out and explore on foot.

The only negative from the break was our hire car, which we booked through the Lezard Bleu website with First Car hire. To be clear, this company have no affiliation or tie in to Lezard Bleu, but i would be wary of hiring cars through this organisation if you are hiring, given the problems we had both at commencement of hire and on receipt of the final invoice, which unfortunately came only when we were home and with no opportunity to challenge. The company took off a large amount from the deposit which has to be paid without justification and when challenged, we were told that it was tough. We would stay again with Lezard Bleu without hesitation, but i would not be hiring a car through this company ever again.

Room Tip: We only saw the tree house during our stay which was fantastic

Dear Alan, thank you so very much for your great words and such positive feedback ! Good to know that we could contribute in a helpful way to your special days in your honeymoon. Wishing you all the best and wonderful years together with Jacqueline.

After I received another complaint about First Car Rental, we shall now take their listing off our website and we actually will not replace it with any new link, since in this times it is easy to find a car via the internet and it will always be better if you book your rental car in the country of your residence. In case of troubles all legal stuff will be dealt with there and not abroad, which only complicates procedures... Please accept our apologies for your negative experience in this regard.
