We stayed at An African Villa for 4 nights. It was our first visit to South Africa and the staff were full of useful information and helpful too.
It was very comfortable and had a good range of useful books.
The breakfasts were great lots of choice enough to keep you going all day.
We would definitely stay there again.

An African Villa is a small hotel with 12 rooms consisting of three connected “houses.” The place is clean and the rooms are good size. Breakfast is very good - continental or cooked to order hot breakfast. Breakfast starts at 8 AM which is late if you want to get an early start for the day. The staff is very friendly and courteous. The location is is good as it is a close walk to some great restaurants or a short taxi ride to the waterfront.

Good central location, with plentry of places to eat nearby, yet on a lovely quiet street. Our room was large and well-equipped, with a beautiful balcony. Breakfast is good, with your choice of hot food freshly prepared for you, although the buffet selection could perhaps be wider. The terrace at the back is lovely, although the pool was out of action while we were there due to the drought affecting Western Cape. The lounge areas are also nice places to sit and relax, with complementary sherry and port in the evenings. Staff all very nice and welcoming. Definitely a good choice if you're sightseeing in Cape Town.

African Villa is a hotel full of character. Much more individual than the streamlined international Hotels. A perfect place to stay for some days in Cape Town. The interior fitting is both elegant and authentic and follows a clear concept. We appreciated and enjoyed the service and friendliness and a lot of helpful advice by the proprietors and the staff.

A perfect place to stay in Cape Town - close to our favorite area around Kloof St but also strategically situated for getting around other parts of town. Lovely old house renovated with care - a true boutique hotel. Great service and food, everyone was really helpful and made sure we had a great stay, also introduced us to the city and told us what to do/not to do, where to go/not to go, etc. Will come back as soon as we can!
