In March 2015 we were looking for some accommodation for 5 days in Cape Town for Oct 2015. We noted a number of positive reviews on Trip Advisor and weren't disappointed with this upmarket B&B as our choice.

On arrival we were warmly received and treated as family while being given a very thorough briefing on the accommodarion, nearby places to eat and shop, downtown establishments and some sensibly guidelines for moving around the town.

In fact this briefing was a follow up on the extensive material sent to us when we booked.

We split our stay into three day and two day parts to facilitate a stay in Franschhoek over the weekend.

Initially we intended to hire a car but found the central location provided plenty of opportunity to walk or use the "Red Bus" service to move around ( on the suggestion of our hosts, Louis, Keith and their partners). A stroll to the waterfront takes about 30 to 40 minutes and you pass by some interesting sites and shops on route.

The atmosphere in the Villa is relaxed and informal and the immediate environs are a quiet part of Tamberskloof where they are locared. Less than 5 minutes walk takes you to a supermarket and a range of very nice restaurants - all the ones we tried were good value.

For trips to places along the garden route or to the Cape of Good Hope, a hire car is probably desirable but there are good chauffeur drive options which we utilised to go to Franschhoek.

The rooms in the villa are comfortable while the breakfast covers a mix of cold and hot food and drink. This can be taken in the dining area or outside adjacent to the pool in the rear garden.

We plan a further trip to Cape Town and the Garden Route and wont look any further than An African Villa for Cape Town accommodation.

The attention to detail is what makes this boutique accommodation. The initial briefing is thorough and gives you an idea of surrounding area and those farther afield. The complimentary cake and port are lovely touches and the decoration is stunning.

The staff are lovely and breakfast is excellent.

Nothing is too much trouble and they will hire cars, book restaurants and assist in any way they can, which really makes the trip.

Just a wonderful place and our view of table mountain from our bed will stay with us.

Will be returning!

This is a lovely place to stay in a fantastic city. An African Villa is located in a quiet street in a smart suburb yet is in easy reach of the city centre; Kloof street for example is just a 5 minute walk away.
Our hosts were pleasant and welcoming from the beginning, and it stayed that way throughout. Their initial welcome 'briefing' covered the essentials and enabled us to get on with enjoying the city straight away. Our room was comfortable and cosy, it had everything you need for a stay like this. And that is the key thing about An African Villa, they have thought of everything. It's the little touches that make the difference and there are plenty of them. Finally, a word on the decor, which was beautiful. The property is styled to reflect its location and very tastefully done.
If you book here you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Not sure, we only saw our room!

Spent 4 nights here enjoying Cape Twin before moving on to Hermanus. Really ended our stay, the owners were friendly and hospitable and explained the map to us and recommended good things for us to do. Room was very nice and comfortable. Breakfast good. Location very good - near to lots of nice bars and restaurants. Thoroughly recommended for Africa guesthouse experience.
