Description: After 2 years of perfecting the perfect burger, we have a range of Gourmet Burgers as well as amazing succulent fall-off-the-bone ribs (pork, beef & lamb). We have just launched another 17 shakes to our already 40 Gourmet Shake range, which include Chocolate Brownie shake, Cheesecake shake as well as a huge flavour of fruit shakes (Blueberry, Summerburst & Black Cherry to name a few) and now also Gingerbread, Malva&Custard and Orange Blossom

We stopped here for a light dinner after a buffet lunch. Although it was raining it was still very cozy with the outside heaters and we ordered a red wine to enjoy while waiting for the burgers. Great was our disappointment when the burgers arrived before the wine. The manager gave us the wine on the house to compensate but the taste and quality of the burgers compensated more than enough.

It looked amazing but the burger was very disappointing as it was dry and over cooked, the sign was when we ordered they never asked how you like it cooked, this is a sign of a bad burger. However the milkshake was the best I've ever had, chips were great also. Overall ok but wouldn't go again if I was there.

Dear Jane, thank you for the review. My apologies that the burger was not prepared correctly. Our service standard is that you get asked how you would like it prepared. We grill them "Medium" as a standard if not requested otherwise. We use 100% pure fillet, rump and sirloin steak that we mature for a minimum of 28 days, which is why our burgers are not bright pink, due to the little blood in the matured steak meat. I went with my husband and i order as appetizer the mac and cheese and it tastes awful with no flavor at all. For main course i took the vegetarian melanzane burger and it was composed of some gooey filling with a thick sauce and i couldnt eat it. The service was as disappointing. After we finished our starters the burgers came so late and when we asked where are our burgers they said that they mistakenly gave it to another table and we had to wait again for the burgers to be done. After we finished my husband asked for toothpicks and the waiter said they just ran out of toothpicks and she cant find any.

We recently went to Gibson's in the V&A Waterfront. I normally don't easily give credit to waiters as I expect a certain level of service. But at Gibson's Steve was our waiter and he was amazing. He was very friendly, caring, enthusiastic and helpful. The food was excellent and it was just a generally amazing experience. Thank you Steve for the excellent service. I will definitely be back for more. I need to try the insane milkshake menu as well as the cheesecake.

Congratulations. My first ever 1 star rating. Such a pity cause the food was really good albeit overpriced.

There was a glitch with the credit card machine and it showed an error. I did however get an sms that the transaction was successful and money off my account. Even after I showed this to the manager they insisted I pay again. I refused and they called in security in full view of my family and other patrons. I then called diners club which confirmed the transaction was successful, but, the manager refused to speak to them.

Really....... for an establishment in the heart of South Africa's main tourist attraction your client relations skill sucks. You will never see me again. I dine out every week of my life, but have never been treated like a criminal before, O and this is not the first time I had a credit card issue in my life. Other times it was just handled with professionalism. You ruined my day

Dear Riaan

As discussed via email already with you, my apologies again for your unfortunate experience, however, due to the events that occurred our manager followed standard procedures regarding “bilking”. Our speedpoint terminal from nedbank showed no transaction had been processed. You bank confirmed otherwise. So, because we didnt have confirmation of the payment, our manager requested that you allow us to do the transaction again. You refused and said you had already paid and were going to leave now. That is classified as “bilking” and in the event of this, we call security. I am sure on Tuesday, once you check your bank statement you will see that this has not been processed and we can rectify payment thereof. Regards, Andrew
