This is a chic and amazing "home away from Home". After 6 days spent in the "wilderness", Kensington Place is a nice and tranquil hideaway for our family as we transition back to city life!

We arrived late and tired, and their warm welcome with a complimentary bottle of wine in each of our rooms made our day!

The rooms assigned to us (5 and 8) were homely but well anointed. Room 8 was especially romantic, tucked away at the back of the premises with a private staircase leading up to the room, adorned with a small patio where we could relax and have coffee in the morning. The view from the balcony was spectacular; we can see the Table Mountain from there. Our only "complaint" about this room was the location of the air conditioner, which blew directly onto our faces when we sleep… we had to switch it off but fortunately we were nearing winter, so we could still get natural cool air by opening the balcony door. However, this design flaw might be a problem during hot summer days.

Service was friendly and impeccable. When they realized that my mom has mobility issues, they arranged for a swap of her room (room 5) with another room (room 7), which was much nicer and located on the ground floor, facilitating her movements without the need to climb stairs.

We were most grateful of the Manager's offer and kind help to take care of my mom on our second day in Capetown, as she was feeling under the weather and unable to join us on our sightseeing. We were able to still enjoy our day because of her help. Thank you!

We would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone looking for a nice, chic and caring home away from home in Capetown!

This is a small boutique hotel with about 8 rooms, situated in a leafy suburb at the top if the trendy Kloof St and at the base of table mountain. It is an easy 5 minute walk to cafes, bars and boutiques. There is also a myciti bus stop which goes to town, however you can walk down hill all the way to Bree Street in about20-30 mins or easily get an Uber. The hotel staff are very pleasant and helpful. Breakfast us excellent, the eggs Benedict is particularly good. There is a small pool which is nice to chill in after the heat if the day, although as Brits we are used to a cold pool, suspect many from warmer climes would balk at the April temperature. Our room(4) was a good size with comfy bed, free wifi snd two balconies. Decent views ver the city and part if table mountain. There was a safe and fridge. We had a complimentary glass of bubbles on check in and a nice bottle if wine on chill in the room. We used the shower sparingly because of the drought, but it was fine. It is not cheap, but we found it a pleasant and relaxing haven.

We stayed here for three nights in December, on arrival we parked in one of spaces available to guests. Check-in involved a glass of bubbly while we were provided lots of useful information. The hotel had pro-actively made some restaurant bookings in the event we had not. We were then shown to our room. After having stayed out in the country for several days, this room was definitely modern and “city-sized”. It also did have a complimentary bottle of white wine. Not too bad, we could sit on the balcony, sip our wine and watch the fog roll off Table Mountain. It was easy enough to get a taxi/Uber from this location, and we could also walk down the hill towards Kloof street for dinner. I recall sleeping well, so it must have been comfortable. Breakfast was served al fresco downstairs. It was quite good although we were ordering on the lighter side. One day we had an early departure and ordered coffee and baked goods for delivery to our room prior to breakfast begin served.

We stayed 4 nights at this loverly hotel in Cape Town Gardens Area. The quality fo the service was great. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the pool area pleasant.
I strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in Cape Town away from the more commercial areas such as V&A and Camps Bay. you're very close to Kloof Street and this place is filled with great restaurants!
