Beautiful long sandy beach with waters ideal for surfers. But listen for and don't ignore the shark siren!

In all fairness, we didn't stay here long. We spent just enough time here to notice that this is a Surfer's Haven. The beach water line and the surrounding mountains does make it a place to think about when you just want to chill out and enjoy the 70's Cape Town Weather. Cool Cozy Town...but seems like the Surfers own it.

What is seen in pics and the reality are two different things. We stopped - Looked - Did not feel safe and left

This is a big surfing beach- there must have been over 100 people of all ages in the water. If we had more time, we could have signed up our two teens for surfing lessons. The surf goods shops facing the ocean were also fun to look around in. The colorful shacks in front of the main beach area were ok, someone mentioned there were more further down the beach but we didn't make it over to see them. The primo Instagram moment was lost...

I haven't been here for a while and the whole beach front is looking good - lots of the older seafront buildings have been renovated and now house some trendy bars and restaurants. The beach itself is clean, white sandy stretch and great for surfing. Can be windy at times.
