This is a beautiful scenery bay to drive by. Absolutely gorgeous views of blue waters, white sand beaches, mountains, and more! We use the Blue route of the red tour buses City Sightseeings that goes through this bay.

Hout Bay is a slightly hidden little harbour with great food and a tranquil atmosphere. There are one or 2 local guys who feed the seals and have named them too. They ask for a small donation to keep themselves as well as the local entertainment going.
If you just want to spend a couple of hours relaxing, this is ideal.
There was this old guy in the harbour that had got one of the seals to sit and take food from his mouth. He called her Angel. She was sweet, but then who wouldn't be when you get nice fishy food all the time? ;)
And also to the Friday night market (5-9), really nice
The snorkeling with seals takes place in Hout Bay (30 minutes drive from CT), it was amazing. On the way we saw a whale and a sun fish.
Also there is a pass that has amazing views of the ocean.
On the half way to the Cape of Good Hope at the beginning of the Chapmans Peak Drive, Hout Bay is a nice place for a break.
In the evening we recommend a visit at "Massimo's Restaurant" (Main Rd., Oakhurst Farm Park, Hout Bay 7806) with the best Pizzas in the Cape Region.
stunning view if you travel from camps bay to the cape of good hope, make sure you quickly stop before travelling on via chapmans.
