Due to construction nothing is where it used to be. However the slight inconvenience will hopefully be nothing compared to the improvements to the hotel. Greating on the 1st floor friendly and professional. Very comprehensive. I was given a room on the top floor which because of the angle of the roof and the windows felt like I was in the sleeping quarters of a yacht. This added to my adventures as the tastefully furnished room had all the amenities and the luxury that one should expect from such a hotel. Carpets have seen better days and are nearing the end of their tenure. Definitely a treat for a romantic getaway.

Room Tip: Loft room feels like you in a the belly of a yacht making it cosy

We only spend one night in this lovely Hotel on our recent trip to Cape Town. The Rooms are excellent and everything works. We really enjoyed our two junior suites, which are decorated in old seafaring themes. The staff was super helpful and always spot on. The breakfast buffet was excellent and almost made us miss our day program. The best part is the location directly on the Waterfront with all its great shopping and dining opportunities. Thank you to the team for an excellent stay.

When we booked our stay at Victoria and Alfred hotel we didn't know that the hotel was under construction. Because of that the reception was located at the 1st room floors, there was a lot of noises and dust in the elevator. As we were in our vacations, we expected a hotel to relax, and not to experience this kind of situation.
Other than that, if it's your first time in Cape Town the hotel has a good location, near to the tourists places and also near all the good restaurants. The rooms are big, with a nice view to the pier.
Check if it's still under construction to book your stay, in a way to avoid any disappointment.

Thanks for your review. We did advertise our upgrade program across all booking platforms and we are sorry you perhaps missed these notes when booking. You will be glad to know that the program will come to an end early October this year so you may look forward to some great improvements to our ground floor on your return.
Best wishes

While this hotel was going through renovations they did their best to accommodate guests. They provided a cocktail hour each evening during our stay.

The rooms we had were comfortable and spacious with fabulous views of table mountain. The hotel was steps away from some great restaurants.

Breakfast was included which included oysters on the half shell!

This was our 1st stop for my nephews graduation trip. It was also his 1st time to Africa. The hotel was undergoing renovation while we were there but it didn't impact our stay at all. We had a loft room which was spacious and nice. The hotel location is great- right on the waterfront. There are plenty of restaurants, activities, craft shopping and the mall all in short walking distance from the hotel. The hop on hop off bus is also very close. I would stay again and recommend to a friend.
