We chose The commodore after being reccomended to stay on the V & A waterfront it wasn't quite as central to the bars etc as we would have liked but we know for future and we had no problems walking back at night. It was a 5 minute walk to the centre. It is a very good location for hopping on and off the red bus, we definately reccomend purchasing the I-venture package the main number 1 stop is 2 mins walk from the hotel. The staff were so welcoming. We arrived early due to our flight times and it was not a problem we sat out in the peaceful courtyard and enjoyed the tranquility and sunshine then a revival coffee in the beautiful bar area. Staff were so helpful at the Commodore. Gregory on the guest activities desk was a superstar at getting us set up for not only our stay in Cape town but our onward journey in South Africa and sorting out a south African sim card for our phones. Breakfast is buffet style. You can request your eggs how you like them and the staff are more than happy to do this for you. We had smoked salmon (from the cold meats area) with our eggs most mornings but you could have all the usual cooked items too. Coffees are good. Lattes were my favourite. Fruit salad and juices were lovely. pastries etc were not the freshest but not unsurprising given breakfast style and size of this hotel. The hotel was a lovely start to our honeymoon and we thank them for making our stay special, we slept very well here and it was a trip to remember we would happily stay here again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Commodore. The location is perfect - it is literally around the corner from the V&A Waterfront. The hotel has lots of lovely, old-world charm coupled with modern rooms and amenities. The food was delicious, and the breakfast buffet spread was outstanding. Would absolutely return again (and I would choose this over the super-pricey options right in the Waterfront - paying that premium isn’t worth it). Highly recommend!

This visit was our first to Cape Town and we greatly enjoyed the Hôtel and the waterfront area as our base for exploring this great area. The hotel is very convenient to the waterfront shops, restaurants and tourist ticket offices. We found the staff friendly and always helpful. The daily breakfast was outstanding. The room was small but well appointed. We would stay there again when returning to Cape Town.

My family spent the Xmas holidays at the hotel and were very impressed. A good/varied breakfast, very helpful staff and a nice touch was a member dressed up as santa and giving out stockings on xmas day. Also very close to the V&A water front. I would recommend the hotel

From the moment you step in you are greeted by the most professional yet friendly staff. Our room was at the back and had the most perfect view of Table Mountain. The entire hotel is up to standard. Our room was well maintained and spacious enough. The hotel is situated in perfect proximity to the V & A Waterfront, the mall and ideally near the site seeing bus stop. There's one thing that stands out from every other hotel I have visited and that is the breakfast!!! Variety, taste and service, outstanding! I love that management is always visible and undertaking duties of even cleaning up tables. That was remarkable! I commend you on your service provided!
