Warning, do not stay here....recently stayed at 101 loader street, whilst out during the day we had some cash stolen from our safe, we were very fortunate that we didn't leave any of our jewellery or other valuables in the safe provided, whoever stole the money had access into the room as there was no break in, which is even more concerning.....

Though in a very good location, I would never stay here again. We were booked into the villages through our travel agent and after looking at their website which included listing the various units available, we selected a particular unit that included an upstairs deck. This was confirmed with the voucher we received before traveling. However, upon our arrival we were told that this unit was not available; instead we were given a unit on the ground floor with a dingy patio that backed onto a large parking lot and a busy street.
In addition, when we checked in, we essentially were given the keys; no one provided us information on the amenities of the unit (safe, how to use the TV, etc), how to deal with utility issues if they arose, etc. In general, the staff was not very responsive to the needs of the guests; the only exception was Dorian, a manager. Further, the housekeeping staff did not clean the apartment towards the end of the visit. Another issue for some is that there is staff available, outside of security, between 11PM and 7 AM.

Room tip: Getting a good room depends on the reliability of reservations which is poor.

Stayed for a week in a three bed apartment. The place was big enough and had a nice view of Table Mountain. The location is excellent. However there are several things that need to be improved. There was no wifi in our apartment. To get internet we had to take a 5 min walk to the reception and even then it was so slow you could barely use it. I requested a parking space and was informed by email that the apartment had a parking space. When we arrived there was no parking space. Finally in a two week trip to South Africa this was the only place where anything was stolen from our rooms by cleaning staff. The place has a lot to work on but it has potential to be a good option

Lovely area and we had an outstanding view of Table Top Mountain. The apartment was spacious but a little basic and showing wear and tear. Welcome packs arrived after we had already been to local supermarket to buy supplies.
Huge downside was no internet in apartment,you had to trek downhill to reception to use wifi there. Not ideal and very annoying for oversea guests without local phone.

We had a deeply disappointing and frustrating experience with De Waterkant Village (Village and Life). Because we were travelling with clients we made a very careful selection of a property with enough space and private areas to accommodate our needs. We based our selection on the descriptions and photo's on the booking.com website.

On arrival we were placed in a very cramped three bedroom apartment with tons of inconvenient walkways and steps to get there. The rooms and bathrooms were virtually on top of each other and there was only a smidgen of a balcony. The place we booked on the website was spacious with a big outside entertainment area and a double story, not at all what we were given.

When I complained about this to the reception manager it was clear that there was not anything she could or wanted to do about the situation. She stated that the pictures on the website is generic and you just have to take what you get on arrival, she further blamed the central booking "people" and said it is out of her hands.

Needless to say we urgently had to find a more suitable place to accommodate us with our clients. There was absolutely no assistance from the staff in this regard and they also refused to refund us our money, which we have paid upfront in full. After having to put on a huge argument it was eventually agreed that they will refund us but they will keep a 5% cancellation fee. Our money has still not been transferred back into our account and again we had to start making phone calls to this money-greedy establishment to no avail.

We went back to one of the other establishments we have stayed with before in De Waterkant and they were extremely helpful; what a difference from what we had just experienced. For only R200 more per night they gave us a spacious three bedroom double story house with its own swimming pool, jacuzzi, and big entertainment areas.

This establishment will never see us again.

Room tip: Absolutely make sure that you get what you have booked, maybe confirm by email to get it in writing.
