Excellent property and even greater location. However not kept up with upgrading the facilities and a bit dated. The pool location was good and it be great with some simple upgrades. The bar is fantastic with some good whiskey collection.

Good day Amit,

Thank you for sharing your review with us.

We are very proud of our exquisite location, overlooking the working harbour and one of the natural wonders of the world, Table Mountain.. The Union bar indeed has a great selection of whiskey and wines to enjoy.

We have noted your concerns with regards to refurbishment of the facility and will be addressed accordingly.

We wish you a pleasant onward journey.

Kind regards
Yanga Zito

We have spent an amazing 2 weeks in South Africa starting on a safari ( separate review ) near Port Elizabeth and driving via the Garden route to Cape Town stopping off at Plettenberg ( Tsala tree tops hotel ) and Franschhoek ( La petite ferme ). Our plan was to end the holiday at the Table Bay hotel in the V&A waterfront area.
My parents had stayed at the hotel 2 weeks prior with comments that led me to visit the hotel 2 days before we were due to check in . The pool area is small and not suitable for anybody especially young children with high winds making the experience very uncomfortable . The standard rooms are adequate for a businessman but lighting is poor . Service at breakfast was disorganised and staff lacked motivation . In general The hotel appeared very staid and old fashioned . On the back of this and being told occupancy was 99% full I tried to cancel and negotiate a part refund but due to the time of year and the strict 44 days no cancellation policy I was out of luck . The hotel was that bad I sacrificed the full cost of 2 rooms for 4 nights at high season . I found very suitable accommodation elsewhere. To be fair location of this hotel is a positive but dress for winter as winds are very strong .

We both love the Table Bay Hotel having stayed there a few times. Sadly on this trip we stayed in Ceres. On our way to the airport we had time to spare so thought High Tea at the Table Bay would be a good idea.
Once again the service was slick, the High Tea was visually as amazing as the taste.
Well done Table Bay. Hope to stay there next time we visit Cape Town (out of the silly season!)

We stayed 8 nights and felt very safe with the security measures in place. Parking of the rented vehicle is free when you produce the room key card at the gantry. Breakfast is included for all types of rooms and the spread was huge and yummy. The rooms are clean and a view is promised! The hotel is linked to V & A Waterfront where rows of restaurants and shops are readily in the corner. There's also a supermarket in the basement of the mall!

Room Tip: ask for rooms with the mountain views

We recently stayed 7 nights at The Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town which sits in the V&A Waterfront which for us was ideal as we had never visited before and wanted to have access to lots of restaurants at night without having to travel too far.

Before going we had been slightly concerned about safety at night but the V&A Waterfront area is very beautiful at night with the water reflections and boats coming and going.

The restaurants are all within 5mins walk from the hotel and there is a huge choice of places to eat.

The hotel is very clean and the staff were excellent and very attentive. We were celebrating our anniversary while there and the hotel kindly gave us a bottle of champagne which was most unexpected.

We had an ocean facing room which was great and looked out towards Robben Island. The breakfast area was beautiful with a wide range of food choices and stunning views across the harbour towards Table Mountain.

The concierge helped us to hire a car for our last few days in South Africa through Avis which allowed us to collect it in town and drop it back at the airport on our way bay from Hermanus.

Loved the hotel and loved Cape Town and would highly recommend staying here if your budget allows it.
