If you are visiting Cape Town you MUST stay at the Cape Grace. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome - they knew we were on our honeymoon and made us feel really special - always remembering our names and leaving treats in the room every day.

The room:
We had a great view of table mountain and the quay (with sea lions hanging out). The bed was comfortable, the decor was beautiful, the daily treats were very appreciated, it was clean and roomy and quiet.

The surroundings:
The hotel is just beautiful - all of the decor has been clearly well thought out with a different theme to each floor, full of history and stories. The reception is huge but welcoming with plenty of comfy seating.

Concierge:
The concierge team were so helpful, from before we even arrived at the hotel, recommending a couple of amazing restaurants and key things to do. They have a driver which is so handy as they can take you wherever you need to go.

Food:
Breakfast was delicious with so much variety to choose from. We went along to the free wine tasting at the bar one evening which was excellent and we discovered two wines that we had never tried which we immediately ordered online to be delivered to us at home. The Bascule Bar is so worth a visit - it's really relaxed, has outside space on the quay and does really really delicious tapas.

Location:
The location is incredibly handy - the V&A Waterfront feels safe and comfortable and really easy to wander around. We loved the Water Shed and all of the little stores in there and also a great coffee place called Native. If you like dogs you should also look out for Project Woof in Noble Square where you can play with the dogs that are up for adoption.

Service:
Exceptional service. From the doormen who smiled and greeted us every day, the reception team who always knew our names to the bar staff at both the bars and all of the restaurant team at breakfast. Most definitely a 5 star hotel.

We'll be back!

Each time you return to the hotel staff welcome you home. And it feels like your home even if you are half way across the world. Staff remember and use your name to greet you and wish you a good day. This is "old world" luxury from the chandeliers to the fresh flowers arrangements to the check in where you sit down, no computer in sight, you are offered a drink and greeted by name even before you identify yourself. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. The breakfasts have a variety of food and you will have hard time choosing. For dinner we had a vegetarian tasting menu that was creative and delicious. The hotel location is close to the waterfront - a must see.

In April 2018, we traveled on a African Safari to South Africa and Botswana. Before our initial trip we wanted to see Cape Town and get our feet on the ground after a long flight. Cape Grace was our choice for hotels and what a great choice. The rooms were perfect for comfort, style and service. The hotel is centrally located to the waterfront and walking distance to shopping and dining. The service at Cape Grace is second to no one and we highly recommend staying when in Cape Town. The food quality, service, comfort is certainly 4 Star. Do Not miss this jewel in your travel!!!

Room Tip: Great hotel and the view is outstanding from almost any room overlooking the marina. Don't miss out on the service and food!!!
