We loved everything about this restaurant: the food was exquisite & very creative, it is located in a very trendy area and the service was great too! A must-go in Cape Town but make sure to book in advance.

It seems you are spoiled for choice for restaurants in Cape Town. We found it hard to choose as only had 3 nights. However we got this right. We loved the tapas approach. The waiter was very helpful and confident enough to change our order and he was right. Everything we ate was high quality and delicious. We were almost the last to leave so were there for over 3 hours but time zipped by. We drank too much but again the advice on wine was very good. Although the location is a little unusual , the atmosphere was very good. The bill was very reasonable too. Excellent restaurant with top service.

The food is nice (if not exceptional) but it’s way out of the centre, the service is somewhat mechanical and it is expensive. If you are in Cape Town with its choice of restaurants, there is no real need to travel all the way out here.

After paying the obligatory R 500 to secure a booking months ago, I could not wait to have dinner at this well known and hugely popular restaurant. The hype around it is not justified. We arrived 15 minutes early for our 18.00 booking and were made to stand in the tiny entrance foyer- as penance it seemed. There was no warm welcome, no offer of a small glass of bubbly to make the wait more pleasant. The staff was having a meeting, the barman sat bored behind his bar, checking his cellphone. Clearly their customers are not welcome a minute before they are supposed to be there. The whole experience seems to be about the food- the making of it, the presentation of it and the feeling of " aren't the chefs so clever' . The runner brings the food, states the ingredients in a rushed and mechanical manner. The portions are truly minute and the prices are an affront. There is no way that the food warrants the blatant exploitation of their guests. The automatic 12% service charge ensures no special effort is made by the staff who rush around and serve all tables at the same time. We found 3 little rock- hard somethings in our beef tartare and when pointed out, the chefs huddled, pondered and stared at us. No, I did not bring it from home so I could score a freebie! No apology, no explanation. Three prawns for R 180? Perhaps you can pull the wool over the tourist's eyes but Cape Townians can get fantastic meals at great value at many other restaurants. This place is about hype and money, certainly not about the patrons. Not impressed, very disappointed. Will not go back. This is truly Much Ado about Nothing.

We had an excellent lunch at the Pot Luck Club. They lived up to their well earned reputation as one of Cape Town’s best restaurants. There is a wide selection of tapas style dishes. Each is full of flavor and served at the perfect temperature. They offer a good selection of beers and wines. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. Although it was a busy Saturday we didn’t feel rushed at all. For foodies this is a must!
