Our daughters 18th was made so special by the wonderful location. ..360° views of Cape Town and the delicious food. It took a while for the girls too get the hang of passing the plates but they were quick learners!!
The midday light is fabulous and adds to the ambience.

We had lunch with a friend at the Pot Luck Club and were very impressed. The intricacies of the tapas style menu were very well described by our waiter and we made our choices accordingly. The nice thing is that the chef decides for you in which order to serve them and it was perfect. Each course was beautifully plated, very different and out of this world in taste. The duck, the filet and all the voices great

We tried and failed to get a dinner reservation two months in advance of our trip to Cape Town, but our hotel concierge was able to snag one at the last minute. It's a tapas restaurant with a twist on most dishes. We ordered six dishes (the recommended amount for two) and enjoyed all of them, with four of the six being not only very good, but something to remember. This is a casual restaurant, but with food quality for foodies. The setting and the view were excellent as was the service. Final comment is that we were pleasantly surprised at how inexpensive our meal (and bottle of good red wine) were. My recommendation is to use your hotel to get a reservation as I suspect that some portion of the seats are reserved for them. You won't be disappointed.

We were lucky that our hotel managed to get us a reservation at this exciting restaurant in Woodstock. On arrival we were greeted and escorted in the elevator to the restaurant entrance. Our seats at the bar meant that we could watch the chef and his team at work, preparing each dish with flare. We weren't disappointed either. Managing to sample a wide range of plates from the menu (like you would in a tapas bar) we experienced a varied and exciting mix of flavours. As for dessert, well we had to try all of them! Would have been rude not to really. Thoroughly recommend this place for its food, night time views of Cape Town and great value for money.

Like the Test Kitchen, you'll need to book your table here well in advance. A few months at least unless you're very lucky and manage to squeeze in at the last minute! The place has all the signatures of Luke Dale-Roberts - understated industrial interior, rustic crockery and tie-dye napkins, creative flair, and fabulous food.

It's a trendy place with trendy food based around Asian-style tapas that come in 5 categories - sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami. There's also a 'sweet ending' section for mouth watering desserts! You choose the dishes you'd like and note them on a piece of paper that the waiters pass on to the chefs stationed at the buzzing open kitchen then the courses are brought out in a light to heavy order based on what you've ordered. We were recommended to order between 6 to 8 dishes for the two of us then 1 or 2 desserts depending on how we felt at the end of the meal. Cocktails were lovely with some exciting and exotic flavour combinations and served in 1920s style glasses. Loved it!

As seems to be a trademark in Cape Town, the standard of food was exceptional and we were spoilt rotten with culinary excellence! The only small gripe we had was the waiters not being too sharp taking away and replacing cutlery - we had to ask for new forks or knives on a few too many occasions and had to prompt the waitress to provide us with some sugar for coffee at the end of the meal too. Anyway, this was only a side issue to an otherwise excellent evening!
