Met up with some friends for drinks after Gate 69. The bar men are still as hot as always and so is the waiters. Always fun for a drink after dinner and before the club:) the food. Can be good just do not go in a big group. Service is sometimes a bit slow.

I came here for lunch. His used to be one of my favourite places to eat. Usually busy. Sunday lunch and it was dead.

Sat outside. Menu much reduced in size and variety.

I ordered a plain haloumi burger .... that is just bun, meat , cheese and chilli dressing. Nothing else. That's exactly how I described it to the waiter. Specifically no tomatoes.

He served the bottled water without ice, temperatures of 30℃. Come on guys, ask if you think we might want it.

The burger arrived and the waiter promptly announced "made with love", unfortunately not with an amount of common sense..... all the usual mayo, lettuce, and bloody tomatoes. Shame he didn't or the kitchen staff didn't read the order and check it.

It was taken back and returned wishing about 3 mins later. Long enough for it to be scraped. Still with the mayo and lettuce.

When will restaurants learn that we don't know what to order it without , if you don't write on the menu what it comes with?

It came back without cutlery, by which time I just gave up.

The banging noise of building repairs didn't help.

I looked at other reviews to see if I was being harsh, but it would appear not. When your "terrible" reviews are almost there same as your "average", it's time to take a look around. Has this place started to take its position for granted. Based on this visit. Yes. Yes, this was all based on the tomato but it's also about listening to customers and checking stuff is right, before you serve it.

Great bar/restaurant on corner of Waterkant/Dixon in the lovely De Waterkant neighbourhood. Great burgers and steaks. Good service and very affordable. Highly recommended!

It's very seldom that you find a restaurant in Cape Town that is consistent which automatically makes it one of my favourite restaurants hands down!!

We often pop into restaurants on a daily basis and it becomes a problem when you tend to frequent the same restaurant three times a week, my problem, clearly not theirs!!

Upon arrival you are greeted with the friendliest yet feisty staff that'll help you chose that fab cocktail or shot just to start off your day, be it 11am or 15h00!!

One of my favorite dishes is the Salt and Pepper squid! I can honestly say that I've tried it at different locations and no one, and I do mean no one, does Salt & Pepper squid the way they do! Fried and served with fries with a chili and aioli sauce, it is squid heaven, you may just order a second!

Another favorite is the Dirty Texan Burger & my oh my was I not disappointed!! Drizzled in a chilli chocolate sauce, medium done, sizzling, it just tantalizes the taste buds and to top it off with another favorite, a Cosmpolitan

Can you honestly ask for anything more delicious? So pop down to Manhattans, it's a decadently delicious experience you won't forget.

Thank you to the amazing team behind the Cafe's success, you guys are phenomenal and consistent and that, in itself, is rare

Terrible service and food! Place is run by children.
They are full of themselves and tend to pay more attention to their friends popping in than to the tables.
Arrogant bunch.
Used to be my favorite place for a meal, not anymore!
The two by two in the toilets still taking place which means that the place is used for wheeling and dealings. This could be why the place and service is in a mess.
The staff are the down fall of this place. The kitchen rings that bell for the food to go out and no one is near or pays attention to the tables.
The staff are too busy doing other things!
Doubt this place that was packed will last another season!
