Late review for a stay in early April this year.

Stayed here for a week while the hubby was in a conference. Very convenient--5 min walk from the CTCC (convention centre) main entrances. Even closer when the side doors (of the CTCC) are open during functions. It's a safe brisk walk, just ignore the occasional vagrant (you're bound to come across some anywhere in Cape Town). Police car presence is good anyway. No problem.

The hotel front desk is very friendly. They do try their best with guests' requests. Just ask politely, of course. Biggest convenience is the shuttle service that drops off and picks up in the vicinity (within a certain distance from the hotel. Ask to be sure). This includes the V&A Waterfront, so it was very convenient. Call before going down to be sure of availability. If you're flexible and reasonable, no reason why you can't thoroughly enjoy this service. More than that, small requests like borrowing warm blankets for our picnic out were cheerfully obliged. They will call local numbers to make inquiries and confirm reservations for you. This is 5-star service that I didn't exactly expect of them considering they're not a huge hotel. Housekeeping/room service was the same. All reasonable requests were promptly attended to. Asked for something for mosquitos which occasionally got into the room (corridor opened to the Atrium type rooftop) and was given a citronella candle. Needed to make a quick trip to the pharmacy round the corner. The staff at the reception gladly kept an eye on my little boy whom I left at the lobby and even gave him a drink. Genuinely friendly service.

The room itself was not huge but comfortable for three. The "door-less" bathroom layout was fine for a family. Note that doorless just meant that the sink area was not fully enclosed. There was a frosted glass wall to one side and the short side opened up to the room hallway. There were two separate fully-enclosed cubicles each for the shower and the toilet. Housekeeping was efficient and if there was anything amiss, they were quick to remedy. Best of all was the generous window that afforded the mountain-view. The view from the hotel of Table Mountain can't be beat. It's having your own private picture window of Table Mountain from your room. My little boy loved to sit on the huge window's bay-type ledge seating. On foggy mornings, you won't see beyond the roundabout plaza with fountain (pretty too). Then the fog lifts suddenly and the mountain is literally looming so unbelievably close. What a treat. There's no forgetting where you are.

The rooftop bar has an even more expansive and higher vantage of the same view. It was chilly in the evenings in April and they had nice comfy blankets for guest use if you wanted to sit outdoors. Food was good and well-presented but it was the cocktails that were memorable. The downstairs dining room was also convenient and served nice enough meals although the hubby said the steak was nothing to write home about (tough customer haha). I was more than satisfied with the breakfasts, though, which we ordered in-room everyday. Fresh juice, a pot of good coffee, toast, generous breakfast meats, eggs to order and a nice tray service with solid cutlery.

On the block itself a few doors down is a convenience store, a pharmacy and to the other side a bakery/diner where mostly locals ate. Not a fancy place but served nice pies and the best curries I've tasted bar none. There was a curry roti that everybody ordered which was just memorable. Long Street is a quick stroll away if you want restaurant choices, bigger supermarkets and tourist shops/markets.

Overall, what an excellent stay. If in town, I would definitely choose this hotel again. Unless you have brand loyalty to the Westin adjoining the convention centre, I wouldn't trade the views and the service here for the 3 minute walk difference and maybe posher room (which you'll pay a premium for anyway). Almost forgot, there is also a nearby stop of the hop on, hop off bus (a must do!) and if you'd rather not wait at an empty bus stop, the shuttle service can deliver you to the bus service head office on Long Street a five minute drive away or to the busier V&A Waterfront stop.

Thanks to everyone at the Park Inn Foreshore!

Room Tip: Rooms at the end of the corridor have the best mountain views. High floor not too close to the rooftop bar if you're noise-sensitive.

We had superior room facing mountain wow. Parking fine. We had no issue at breakfast like previous reviews so seems they fixed that. Roof top lounge service top notch. Really enjoyed affordable night away. We dined at madam zingara. Bed comfortable loved the longer than standard pillows.

Great location- Very close to V&A waterfront. Hotel provides free shuttle to nearby places on availability basis. It is quite close to table mountain cable station. Appears in a business area, quite attractive location with Burger king nest door. Hotel itself has a lovely restaurant/bar at rooftop.

Staff is super friendly. They tried their best to check us early. Though could not succeed as hotel was full. But no worries there. We kept luggage in locker and drove directly to the table mountain. Staff is prompt in everything.

Rooms are cosy with a modern look. Beds are comfortable. Nice ambience. Breakfast is reasonable.

Overall I would look forward to visit again.

The hotel is very central to the conference center and close to the Waterfront area. Wifi is good and always working. Good breakfast. The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful, even when I messed up my reservations they took care in the best way and fixed it. I went for business alone, but this would be a good hotel for any occasion. My room was big and nice. No problems with aircondition and excellent housekeeping kept the room clean at all times.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of Table Mountain!
