When my best friend and I were looking for a good sushi restaurant we came across this name in the lonely planet travelguide. We arrived late at about 9:30 and they were very friendly and offered us a place at the bar as the restaurant was super busy and we didn't reservea a table. They were very helpfull in ansvering all our questions even though it was very busy. We ordered a chef's choice platter and an additional plate of 4 maki sushis. The sushi was amazing, we could even watch the chef preparing it in front of our eyes. It tasted amazing!! we both love sushi and eat it regularly but this was far better then anything we have had before. Even the wine from klein constantia (local wine) was perfect. Thanks for the great evening!

I have visited my share of unfriendly restaurants around the world, but this one really takes the biscuit. When we got there, the place was empty and even though we had made a reservation for a group the owner started to belittle the woman who made the reservation (and eats there regularly) for bringing 12 instead of 11 guests. He did so loudly in front of the entire group, which is inexcusable. Some of us left the place rightaway because of this, but were called back by the woman who made the reservation. And even then he didn't stop embarrassing himself and his staff. I will never ever visit this restaurant again!

Hi Mr.Gerrits,
We've checked your version of events out and they do not ring true at all. In other words you've misrepresented what actually happened on the night. This has been confirmed by staff working there on the night and "the woman who made the reservation",
If you chose not to return ever again that'd be completely fine by us.

The restaurant has a lovely ambience and the service is attentive and friendly but the prices ( for both the food and the wine) are exorbitant. The food is average. For example I had the seared tuna which was a small portion and very salty. Another party had the curried chicken which was like a soup with bits of chicken in it

Thin sashimi, few food and very expensive! Unfortunately I will not come back. I paid almost R1500 for two Sakes, one combo of sashimi very thin and one tempura prawn. The ambient is nice, but don't go hungry at all.
