Initial old-look may be deceptive for this hotel that functions very well, despite aged infrastructure, particularly, the elevator. Check in was swift, allowing a tired guest to quickly access his/her room and settle down for rest. Room was clean, and so were the bed/bedding and the toiletries. A bit of noise though from the neighbourhood, and the bathroom had an uplevel stepping from the main room that can be problematic during the midnight 'leak'...There's an attached restaurant for included breakfast, next door, and the menu was just adequate, even if not very tasty.

Room Tip: Perhaps the ground floor rooms would have been better, not sure...

Everything about this restaurants' food is authentic. With a seven piece blues band playing in the back, you are in for a treat. The place isn't much to look at but with the vibe it brings and the collection of oddities its wonderful.

Room Tip: Very modest hotel, have a look first to see if you're into that kinda style

Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful but they could not solve the basic problems like, poor Wi-Fi, poor sound insulation against neighbouring rooms. Also the taxi the hotel sent for airport pick-up overcharged me for about 30%. Night staff-cum-security guard speaks almost no English hence couldn't transfer phone calls to my room. Breakfast was in minute portion.

This is not a hotel. I arrived to find that the "hotel" lobby turned into a dirty dark night club atmosphere. A live band playing music that can be heard from my taxi two blocks away as I approached. On booking in I was rudely treated. Once in the room the music was so loud. This music was from the hotel themselves. I found out that they have a live band that plays 3 times a week. I recommend you never book a room on these nights. You will not sleep at all. Worse mistake. I regret staying there please do not make the same mistake.

We stayd for on night at end of Marcg 2015. Room and bathroom adequette for the stay. Some noise at night but considering it is in Central Cape Town this is understood. Breakfast was fine but only after one order the waiter will indicate that there is a limit in the cost. The additional have to be paid in. I would agree that this be communicated beforehand. Nevertheless, worth the money and very central. 15 min walk to V&A Waterfront.
