Having just returned from India I was keen to sample again the cuisine of India, lucky for me, we were staying at the Taj Hotel and didn't have to walk too far to sample this fabulous restaurant right under our nose. We chose the Sample Menu, it was stunning, beautifully presented, and a combination and an exploration of flavors second to none, the food was better than we had eaten in India and we had some memorable meals there. The service was good, a little too chatty at times, but they are a young team and are really trying hard, so let's just say, if you love Indian food, the 5 stars that this place regularly earns is well deserved.

We enjoyed a meal here on a Friday night with my partner & in-laws. We found the restaurant to be a bit stuffy, in that you wanted to open windows (not that it was formal!) and felt sleepy until about 10am when they put the air-con on. The menu's were a bit over-complicated for us, however other guests would perhaps enjoy the breadth of choice. Overall the food was good, some dishes nicer than others and we enjoyed our meal. The service could have been faster, but was pleasant and we did feel looked after.

I have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants, but the flavour, ingredients and presentation here was second to none. High recommend this place for a great, authentic Indian meal bursting with flavour! The only downside was that the staff are overworked, the place is understaffed, and there would be times when you would really have to search for a waiter to get service. If they could fix the service levels, I would push them up to 5 star.

My husband works in the middle east and has eaten 1.000.000 curries in his life but for this one we had to come back. The staff is amazing, our waiter (I forgot his name right now, but Ill come back and put it in) was amazing. He listened to what we liked (Im a vegan) and when my husband told him he liked a combination on 2 dishes, the chef made it special for him. He got to try some new whiskey’s based on his own palet (thanks to our amazing waiter who had been to Scotland and knew what he was talking about) and made out visit outstanding. Could not recommend enough!

Delicious food and great ambiance, personalized service specially with Rahjen Moodley.
He was super professional and took good care of us. We had a table booked and I was staying at Taj. He provided us with extra-ordinary service and a nice bottle performance surprise at the end. He really goes extra miles and his service was beyond expectation.
He is a treasure for Taj Cape Town and Bombay Brassarie.
Staff in general are very friendly. Restaurant manager made us feel like home with initiating friendly chats.
