I have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants, but the flavour, ingredients and presentation here was second to none. High recommend this place for a great, authentic Indian meal bursting with flavour! The only downside was that the staff are overworked, the place is understaffed, and there would be times when you would really have to search for a waiter to get service. If they could fix the service levels, I would push them up to 5 star.

My husband works in the middle east and has eaten 1.000.000 curries in his life but for this one we had to come back. The staff is amazing, our waiter (I forgot his name right now, but Ill come back and put it in) was amazing. He listened to what we liked (Im a vegan) and when my husband told him he liked a combination on 2 dishes, the chef made it special for him. He got to try some new whiskey’s based on his own palet (thanks to our amazing waiter who had been to Scotland and knew what he was talking about) and made out visit outstanding. Could not recommend enough!

Delicious food and great ambiance, personalized service specially with Rahjen Moodley.
He was super professional and took good care of us. We had a table booked and I was staying at Taj. He provided us with extra-ordinary service and a nice bottle performance surprise at the end. He really goes extra miles and his service was beyond expectation.
He is a treasure for Taj Cape Town and Bombay Brassarie.
Staff in general are very friendly. Restaurant manager made us feel like home with initiating friendly chats.

Booked for dinner and went for the chefs recommendations menu. This is a 6/7 course tasting menu and is very filling for one person. Could easily of shared and felt full. The portions are slightly smaller than standard dishes but enough for the average aptiate. Popadoms are complimentary with a spiced gravy style sauce. The warm Chatt appetiser is spit on. Great flavours and portioned perfectly. Next the soup with a twist, great lentil daal style soup with popcorn! . Yes the popcorn was strange and felt why are you spoiling this great soup. Next was the tandoori starters peri salmon and prawns. The fish was just great and flavers awesome. A sorbet made fancy style with smoke etc was ok before the mains arrived. This was 4 curry dishes in small pots. Perfect in portion but 4 of them I felt too much. The lamb curry perfect with its curry’s sauce just right. The chicken curry was so delicate and cooked to perfection in a dry curry sauce. The spice in both dishes was medium to mild. The spinach dish was perfect and made from fresh saag. The daal fish was again so lovely I’d eat that only and feel happy. Buttered Naan bread with plain fluffy white rice as accompaniment were nice. Finally the deserts, keeping up in the Indian theme were classics all made brilliantly.
Last the surprise was left till last once paying the bill you receive a triple sweet treats, all Indian theme sweet style treats. The coconut barfi is so so nice, that alone would be the . If I wasn’t so full I could eat a box full.
For Cape Town this place is in the pricey end but serves great food and special mention to all the local staff who are so accommodating and very informative.
