Description: Welcome to The Bombay Bicycle Club, Cape Town’s wonderfully wacky bohemian love den at the top of the hill, where everything is possible and always ensues. Headed up by Madame Zingara, The Bombay is a representation of our colourful history and an expression of our eclectic past; a venue where you are encouraged to let your hair down and expected to stay up way past your bed time. The menu is a collection of all-time favourites that have enchanted our diners for many years, complemented by an ever-changing collection of specials which embrace our local borough traders and keep even the most jaded palate amused. As The Bombay represents our past, so The Sidewalk Cafe symbolizes the new. One for the wild and hedonistic, and one for the gentle soul – the yin and yang of Madame Zingara.

Fantastic steaks and great atmosphere - a must when in cape town. Definately book in advance. A warm welcome was given. The pork ribs were amazing and the chocolate steak was the best in SA

Loved the ambiance, the service was efficient. The food was really enjoyable as well. Dining here is more than just having delicious food, it's an enjoyable experience, and if you run out of conversation with your dining companion, there's always a lot to look at .

This is a good little bar, sitting is limited so don’t expect to find a seat easily to have your beer/cocktail. The waiting staff are, not rude, but not professional, a group of guys looking for a good time, this can annoy some, or like us, make our experience more fun. I like a bar man that can laugh and joke whilst making our drink, some find this rude when waiting. The food is good, I ordered the ribs, best I’ve in Cape Town, to date. The only issue is that the restaurant was empty, but service did feel like it took a little longer than it should. Prices aren’t expensive, but they’re not cheap either, you’d expect student prices from the decor and dress code.

Worth a visit, if only to see the decor and try their cocktails once.

This restaurant was fairly highly reviewed but the experience didn’t live up to our expectations. The wait staff seemed distracted and it took about half an hour for the beer we had ordered to arrive. Apparently the bar was busy (the restaurant was half empty and there was no one at the bar)! The food was fine but nothing special.

Visited based on recommendation, and brought a friend for a birthday dinner. It was a very hot and humid summer's evening, and we were seated upstairs. While the decor is quirky, cute and interesting, we did feel the upstairs area was a little over populated, given the heat. The air conditioning didn't make a difference at all. The food was amazingly spectacular, the chocolate chili steak (although a little too much chocolate sauce) and ribs are a firm recommendation. The host was efficient, well equipped in her knowledge and very amiable.
