Went to Mitchell's Scottish Ale house for breakfast, a failure!!!!! Then went to Fireman's, total success. If your chef cannot cook eggs, leave. Mitchell's cannot. Fireman's really can

We stopped past looking for a nice hearty out lunch. Waitress friendly, service quick BUT we ordered a burger and chips and got a luminous, radioactive pi k burger in a bowl.

Nowhere on the pub menu did it say srved with bright luminous pink burger in a bowl!

It's ridiculous, its a pub name, pub history and pub bar, why are they trying to be modern take on fine dining.

Serve me a normal.bun in a normal.cheese burger on a flat plate please.

The colour was so off putting we didn't even finish it, we asked for the bill and we left.

Seriously, don't ruin a good pub bar and menu to try fit in.

Loved going to Fireman's Arms, first time since the upgrade and looks modern but miss the old style pub, the waiter recommended the Burger of the day which we chose and thereafter asked if we wanted chips with this, as this is rather a normal request of being included in the meal and price, at no stage did the waiter advice us the price of the chips was an additional charge of R44 over and above the cost of the burger at R120, total ripp off and won't go back there unless I win the lotto🤔. The 2 stars rating is due to the good service we received albeit pulling the wool over our eyes.

Good Afternoon Verene, we've just received our Tripadvisor report and noticed your comment. Firstly please let me apologized re the chips incident with your burgers. All our burgers are served with chips . We are implementing a new Menu and are finding a few teething mistakes , again please accept our sincere apologies. We have been in business for a long time and do understand that we need to keep an eye on our pricing and at the same time providing exceptional food quality and service.. At no point did we intend to upset our local customers. Please contact me on my number 0837090419 Dean , and let us make right our mistake. Hope to hear from you soon. Regards Dean.

Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, helpful waiters. I visited this restaurant last weekend with a large group of friends to celebrate a birthday. I had the most delicious fish and calamari combo. My husband had an eisbein which I was drooling over - it looked soooo good. He loved it. Other members of our group had bangers & mash, fireman's pie and fish & chips and many other dishes, everyone had nothing but good things to say about their food.

Having seen the good reviews, we went on a Thursday night and found it was the quiz night. The staff are on the ball, the food was good and so was the beer and the selection of spirits. Safe parking in a guarded car park. As for the quiz, we came fourth out of a dozen teams, so quite satisfied.
