Love the More Quarters. This is a wonderful apartment hotel well located in Cape Town with great views of Table Mountain. The staff is absolutely fantastic. It is important to note that this is an apartment hotel, and not what you might expect when doing a vacation rental. There are multiple restaurants and a very nice grocery within walking distance, and the hotel offers shuttle service to the waterfront. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone visiting CapeTown.

We recently stayed at More Quarters for our first 4 nights in South Africa. Our initial impressions were great. The hotel is nicely decorated, small enough to be intimate, in a fun location and the staff were very attentive.

However there were a few issues that left us a little disappointed. Our room had a sofa bed for our daughter which was made up when we arrived. Very efficient but it left us nowhere to sit and relax, so we turned it back into a sofa each day. Our room was large but really could have used some more comfy seating, there were 3 of us and we had to squeeze together on the little sofa or sit on the bed. Another chair would be great.

We were in Room 2 and there was no Wifi at all. Not a massive problem as we were happy reading but take note if you really need your Wifi!

We also had a leaky floor, there were 2 sections in our floor doing a slow leak, again not a major issue but given the terrible drought they really need to sort this out. We had workmen in our room for a few hours at one point.

We also found the concierge service a bit hit and miss, we had good advice for restaurants but our timings were muddled up a few times, and at one point we had the hotel taxi taking us in completely the wrong direction over a front desk mixup.

The drivers were great, very friendly and skilled at dodging the Cape Town traffic.

The breakfast was nice, but the hot food service was rather slow at times and my children want me to mention that the mushrooms were far too salty!

A few tweaks and this hotel would definitely get 5 stars from us!

Room Tip: No Wifi in Room 2 when we visited, and there was a rather ominous looking gas canister outside.

Dear 'nicoleLondon_UK'

We appreciate your detailed review following your stay at More Quarters, and are gratified that you had a (mostly) enjoyable time with us. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to improve based on your very relevant feedback. Our individual responses are listed below;

Regarding the space planning in your apartment: Apologies for the inconvenience you suffered in having to make up and turn back your own sofabed. Usually if our guests are arriving late or off a long haul flight, we make the bed up for them. We would gladly have turned it back again in the morning, making it up - as preferred - in the evening. You should be pleased to learn that we will be adding a new sofa and occasion chair to the lounge area, which should make up for the insufficient recreational space for families such as yours.

I was surprised to read of your challenge with Wifi connectivity. We installed a fibre optic connection, as this is a service we have worked hard to perfect. The signal is usually very strong throughout the property. We have since tested it, and confirm that all is in working order. Perhaps resetting the router may have helped at the time of your stay.

Our maintenance team has had a look at the leaks you referred to, and identified the problem as a plumbing issue with the shower drain. Thank you for bringing this to our attention - as you rightly mention, every single water droplet counts!

Regarding your point relating to workmen in your room, this should never have happened as maintenance should only be conducted while our guests are out. I have addressed this with our maintenance team. At the same token, the inconsistencies in small details regarding your Cape Town experiences have been addressed with our Guest Relations team. It's critical for us to deliver an exemplary concierge service; one of the aspects of More Quarters which usually stands out. It is deeply frustrating when we do not get it 100% right.

Forgive us for the delay in your hot food service! We are in the process of reworking our breakfast concept to better accommodate our guests' needs.

We hope to see you again, and to having another opportunity to get your experience with us 100% right!

With kind regards

This is a unique hotel / B&B located perfectly for tourists. Rooms are comfortable, fully-equipped and with all the amenities expected. Breakfast service was excellent, with excellent food. Only complaint will be the turn-down service was always too late (after 8:30 PM).

Photos of this hotel don't do it's unique concept justice. It is actually a group of single houses along three streets forming a hotel compound if you want. The apartments have been tastefully and comfortably renovated to provide an urban chic, all mod cons, place to stay. Generous, well designed rooms in muted colors (white predominates) ensures a bright and relaxing environment. The staff are incredibly welcoming and unruffled by those unexpected glitches which can happen when you are on vacation (we missed a flight an needed to stay over an extra night). Breakfast, which is included, is five star, fresh and well prepared. It's a place I would certainly recommend for itself and the neighborhood it is in which is minutes to ll the attractions but just out of the hustle and bustle.

So after flying for 20 hours and having that weird jet lag, we were greeted by the amazing folks in Cape Town, and specifically at More Quarters which is located in the Gardens district of the city. As amazing as it is to go to the waterfront area, my wife and I were so happy we stayed up from there, in this part of the city. Just off of Kloof St. There are so many fantastic restaurants, shopping, and you get a good vibe of the city without loosing it to visitor bustle. (That said, we certainly spent time at waterfront and truly enjoyed it, just not like a neighborhood).
Anyway, the staff was accommodating and helpful. Pointed us the right direction and got us acclimated. They have a complimentary transportation for guests and great apartment suites with full accommodations.
The common breakfast area was fantastic. Great food, service. Though they did breakfast, no other meals here. Although room service was available.
We’d easily stay here again. Can walk all over this area. Was a great introduction to Cape Town and South Africa. Close to pretty much everything.
Reason for 4/5 is simply place was relatively self-sufficient, however if you need something, ask and they’ll figure out anything. Not meant for pampering, get out and explore. Great stay. Highly recommend.
