This is a restaurant that seems to get mentioned in all the guide books and when you are in Cape Town people ask you if you have visited. Overall its worth a look.

Yes its a bit touristy however a good selection of mixed 'local' dishes with various African Meat Specialties on the menu for you to try.

All the food we tried was good - but not exceptional. I tried the vegetarian butternut squash - which was fine. My husband the Springbok - which he enjoyed.

We were a bit early and the live music was only just getting going as we were thinking of leaving. However what we saw / heard was good and the singer was doing some interesting dancing.

It was very busy - so you may well need to book.

Went there on valentines day and despite having no booking on a busy evening the staff went out of their way to find us a table. Good food, good attentive service and a great atmosphere

This was the best experience in Cape Town. Everywhere you go you hardly get to see and meet the locla people but this place gave us an insight of that what we were really missing, you forget you are in Afica till you come here. Then comes the music, the rhythm and the realise the food so different, the hospitality is african and the music....MJ, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Huston all rolled into ABAVUKI fantastic evenig.Take a walk around the street, good african shopping(Bargain), african art around and then mama africa. Divine experience. We paid extra for the table near the band and it was worth every Rand.
