During our travels in Cape Town, we found out the hard way that a lot of areas/restaurants are closed on Sunday night. That led us to the V&A Waterfront where we found Haiku. Nice, dark atmosphere- a little loud but fun. Nice waiters, a bit on the slow side. Loved the menu options varying from sushi to dim sum to wok and grill options. We tried several dim sum options, the wagyu beef, the vegetable noodles and thai basil beef- all were delicious! All in all a very enjoyable meal. I thought reasonably priced as well.

Absolutely delicious. The prawns were exceptional, as was the other tasters we ordered. Service spot on and one of the best cocktails I had in Africa. The food and service were so good we went back 2 nights later.

We were craving Asian food on our trip to Cape Town, and Haiku was a great choice. Very modern, very lively, interesting menu (with black cod and wagyu beef as highlights), great service.. no complaints, will want to re-visit on our next CT trip!

We managed to get into this place hour before closing. They have small portions but each are very different and unique. Waiter was very knowledgeable, only thing was he wasn't sure if they had sake or any Japanese beers. I assume they tend to run out of things sometimes. I would definitely return to this place when I visit Cape Town again.

We dined in Haiku on our first evening in Cape Town central. It was good - the food is nice, the setting lovely, it's well-located in regards to the shopping opportunities offered by the V&A, while not feeling like a mall restaurant thanks to the terrace... but we later found so many other places to eat in Cape Town, more flavoursome, more attractive and better value for money!
The one thing that I would outright criticise, and that was not in keeping with our Kalk Bay experience at Harbour House, was that the waitress, although very friendly, gave us poor advice on dishes to choose. When I asked whether a particular dish was big or small she said very small - as a result we ordered way too much food, we couldn't eat it all, it felt a waste and our bill came in at a much higher price than anywhere else and it wasn't worth it. That was a shame, as that dish alone was actually too big for me, and I assure you I can eat! So if I had to go back I'd go for one or two smaller portions - but I think I'd rather go elsewhere, although it's' quite ok.
