I called the restaurant to make a reservation before we left the UK which was not necessary as there were plenty of tables when we arrived on a Sunday night. We opted for the safari platter so as to try a variety of meats we don't get in the UK, I can't remember everything on the plate but it included ostrich, kudu and beef steak, the meats were all well cooked to our preference of rare and we had sides including chakalaka and putu and morogo. The portion was enormous and we struggled to finish it.

For such a touristy location our expectations were low but we were very happy with the food and service and would certainly return.

We stopped by for an impromptu meal at the Karibu. We limited African food experience, Nigel our host was superb. He got us a lamb stew for my wife and I opted to be safe with a Greek salad, Butternut squash soup and Nigel got us some amazing bread (can’t recall the name but starts with R). Was very impressed with the food and loved the hospitality. Do drop by here folks.

This is average South African restaurant in the Waterfront. The food is expensive and not much to write home about. Service was great.

Good service, special thanks to Stanley our waiter for today. Our daughter liked the milktaart and great Cappucino

Karibu is a beautiful restaurant to visit on a warm evening when you get sit outside and view the waterfront. The food is fantastic (as noted in other reviews) and Paul, the Sommelier, made it even more memorable by selecting the perfect wine to accompany our wild game platter. Paul is very knowledgeable and we talked to him a great deal about the wine farms we had visited. (Paul conducts his own tours of the various wine regions which sound fantastic as he has access to exclusive places--wish we would have met him before our last day!)
