We felt welcomed and Kim our waitress was amazing. We opted for the seafood platter for two and it was delicious... compliments to the chef. No smoking section but was accommodated just outside where the service never stopped. Thank you for making this special day a memorable one.

Had a family lunch here at our first day in Cape Town. Had wheelchair access for my wife. The starters was yummy we had oysters, calamari, Thai soup. Main meal rump steak, pork belly and sushi. Food and service was amazing a definite must to do.

Fantastic sushi and fish. Food wise - no complaints. We really enjoyed fresh fish. Service also great. The biggest downside is the place itself - too big, missing nice ambiance, too many loud big group reservations around. Would recommend for lunch.

We swung by the Blowfish for an easy dinner date. The night started with a lack of parking - which was no biggie. I was a bit disappointed that the guard at the parking entrance refused to let us in so we could make a u-turn to exit to park on the main road. We were seated quickly but our night pretty much went downhill from there.

For starters - although our waitress greeted us - it took 20+ minutes before she came by to check if we were ready for drink orders. By then we had pretty much read the menu several times over so we ordered everything ( drinks , appetizers, and entrees at once ).

I almost feel bad saying this - but there are little subtleties to waiting tables - like not reaching over someone's plate, not trying to fill a glass of wine all the way to the top, stopping the pour when a customer asks, having linen napkins , putting a bottle of wine on ice at your table, maintaining proper personal space distance etc. So none of that happened. We actually asked for napkins and the waitress told us they were already in the laundry service so there were no more.

That being said - our appetizers came and they were ok. The shrimp stuffed calamari wrapped in bacon just felt like a calorie bomb with an unnecessary cream sauce. The bacon was too chewy so it felt more like a meat dish than anything else. The oysters were great - and I can't fault them in any way. The sauce with onions that came with them was great.

We had ordered a bottle of wine but since it wasn't kept in an ice bucket the entire time and the huge pours - we ultimately ended up with almost lukewarm wine through our meal.

We ordered sushi and specifically asked the waitress to confirm that there was no avocado in my husband's entree - as he has an allergy. She confirmed that. Our sushi came and we began eating. Lo and behold there was avocado in the sushi. When we mentioned this to the waitress she was incredibly apologetic - but seemed more concerned that we forgive her than concerned with rectifying the situation.

My sushi was ok - but it all felt drenched in sauces.

We politely let her know that we just wanted our check at this point and we still tipped - because honestly it sucks not to get any tip and it was an honest mistake on her part.

I wasn't coming here to get wowed - but given the price points and "calibre" of restaurant - I was not impressed at all. I think the waitress needs to go back to training to get some of the subtleties of waiting tables down. As far as the food - simplifying the food and not drowning it in sauce would go a long way.

We booked a table via the reception of Dolphin Beach Hotel, who made the reservation in front of us, asking to have a window table as we have a special birthday girl. They said NO PROBLEM!!!. What a surprise, when we got there, they found our booking and the gentleman took us to the table. When we got there they handed the booking over to the manager as they saw that someone else was sitting at the window and offered us a table in the middle of the restaurant. The manager was very unhelpfull and told us that is the best he can do!!!! Well, well.... so much for customer.service and reservations. I will never go back. We left to go to another restaurant.
