We stoped here for dinner while doing Tuning the Vine #Innercity and I absolutley loved this place!

Great burger and I was in love with the Eggplant Fries! Also a very romantic atmosphere outside with the lights hanging in the quartyard!

On recommendation of a friend we enjoyed dinner here last night.
We loved the unusual, the freshness and good service! It sure beats many of the highly commercialised touristy places that we have eaten in on various Greek Islands!
It was a cold, wintry evening so there was no outside seating, but the fires were burning, ready to flame grill what was ordered. It must have a lovely vibe in summer!
The Menu consists of Meze, just 7 items, of which we tried only 3. The calamari with harissa & aloi was delicious, the Saganaki (fried Haloumi) was stunning as was the humous-like Fava.
Then you can either choose one of 4 Souvlakia (served in a pita or with a healthier option, their nutty Cypriot grain salad) We had both the lamb belly and the leek & aubergine versions - stunning!
Next time we will try some of the grilled items 'from the fires', which include chicken, steak, a burger, sardines or a white bean soup.
I wish I could also have tried more the sides.... all innovative and interesting.
If you have room for dessert the menu is very limited to Loukoumades (Greek doughnuts) which are offered with either a traditional orange blossom syrup or hazelnut chocolate, they are not my scene, but the men enjoyed them.
Service was friendly and professional.
The wine list was good and not over priced.
I think this could be a great spot for a party!

This unique venue has a lovely outside area which would be super on a summers evening but we were luckily inside . The place was packed and vibey.
We stared by sharing the fried calamari, roasted olives, halloumi and perfect aubergine fries with whipped feta .
Then the main course . We ordered the chicken on mixed grains , souvlaki with sausage and the white bean soup . After a long wait we received two of our meals . After another while and still one course short we enquire after the dish . It was supposedly on the way . Again we waited and eventually we cancelled it . It totally spoilt what was a delicious meal .

I've recently discovered Love Thy Neighbour on Bree, Cape Town's most happening street! It used be And Union for those who remember back then when AU, put the cool into craft beer, and after a brief stint as a Biergarten, it was taken over by Johnny 'Paps', a legend in this town, for all the right reasons.
It's hard to describe the food in detail, suffice to say it is exceptional authentic Greek fare, with an uber talented young chef at the helm in the kitchen- Nick- making recipes inspired by his Cypriot grandmother that leave you hankering you go back time and again. You have to go and taste for yourself and thank me after!
Open Tues to Sat. My recommendations: the taramasalata starter, chicken main and doughnuts smeared in choc sauce for dessert. Have it all with a bottle of organic Reyneke red!
