We had a lovely stay at the new Stay Easy on Bree Street. The staff were attentive, friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were great and the views from the rooftop pool are lovely.
Unfortunately, the events of our checkout-day soured the experience for us. Around 8:30 am, my wife had just showered and was laying on the bed. A random maintenance man simply unlocked and walked into our bedroom - stared for a second and then walked out.
A few minutes later he knocked again and said that our room was supposed to be empty. After assuring him that we were not an apparition and clearly someone *was* in the room, he apologized and left.
5 Minutes later, a Stay Easy employee rocked up and again, told us that our room should be empty. I told her how much I didn't appreciate being forced out of our room when checkout was only for 11 am. She apologized and left.
5 Minutes later, a cleaning lady rocked up to clean out our room and again, I had to tell her that the room was still occupied and she should come back later.
By this point, I was well annoyed and I went to reception and asked them to please spread the word to all employees that room 1547 was indeed occupied and to please stop just walking in and repeatedly knocking on our door trying to convince us that our room was meant to be empty.
They were as clueless as I was, on why this was happening.
We tried to relax and enjoy the last few hours of our hotel room stay, but by this point, we were too nervous to relax in case someone else just walked in with a master keycard so we were out of there by 9:30 am.
A very unfortunate result of what I can only guess was bad communication and/or management, that left a bad memory on this otherwise lovely new hotel.
