Description: Sevruga is a culmination of a lifetime of work, and our complete dedication to perfection. Although perfection is almost always a step away, we always endeavour to exceed your wildest expectations, offerings lush interiors, exquisite dining and an intimate atmosphere seating up to 350. From the New York style entrance, polished marble and solid wooden floors, to the fabulous American walnut bar counter and designer chairs with opulent, imported fabric, it is clear that no expense has been spared. Our philosophy when creating Sevruga was the same as when we create our signature dishes. We use the best possible raw ingredients, combined with professional and creative suppliers and craftsmen to create a truly amazing experience. An elaborate menu offering a vast array of wines and meals ranging from humble dishes to taste sensations, with more complex tastes and flavours. The service is relaxed yet professional, while the view from both inside the restaurant and out on the terrace, will take your breath away! As part of giving Sevruga customers an all-round experience, a Functions Manager for tour and incentive groups is always on hand and, from the entrance to the kitchen, Sevruga has steadfast principles in place to guarantee an over-all experience of grandeur. With especially designed set menus, we can cater for any function. It's no wonder that every now and then we are delighted to have famous faces, both local and international, grace our establishment. A-list Hollywood stars such as Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart and Tom Hardy, have been spotted dining at Sevruga, as well as our beautiful Benoni Blom Charlize Theron. You never know you might just bump into Brangalina! "The only reason to visit the V&A Waterfront". - The New York Times.

We were voucher clients at Sevruga and it felt as if we got the voucher end of the stick.
We expected a fine dining experience but only half of the dishes lived up to its reputation. Dishes were elaborately described on the menu to really raise expectations but reality did not match. Sushi starter good, Duck parfait beautifully presented but tasted like over salty thinned duck liver pate. A whole lump of it. Petite Fillet melt in the mouth with a fantastic sauce and a good sized portion compared to tough dry ostrich. Creme brulee beautifully presented, fantastic taste and textures with Sticky toffee pudding a lump of solid, I am not exaggerating, solid lump of dough. Something that never should have made it out of the kitchen. So the whole experience consistently left one of us satisfied and the other horrified. The bottle of Spier Chardonnay /Pinnot Noir had a really bizarre taste and one feels too bad to send things back due to the fact that one is a voucher client. The service was good, unintrusive, friendly. The atmosphere in the overly lit outside area, where most voucher clients are seated, were less romantic than envisioned.

Our waiter was incredibly inexperienced and had to be guided by us (the guests!) on what to do. He mixed up the starters and mains, forgot to bring cutlery, gave misguided information about the menu card, and in general seemed very confused.
We had the fish of the day and the Savroga Signature sushi plate. The fish was way, way too salty and the sushi did not seem like it was freshly made.

We eat at Sevruga regularly and had an average experience recently. The new chef has changed the sushi menu slightly but this is not reflected on the menu unfortunately. Tempura prawn seems to be an easy option and has replaced the The cocktails were delicious as always and the dim sum was also tasty.

My food was cold. It was returned obviously from the microwave. My wife ordered two starters instead of a main. They forgot to order one of them. She ate one of the dim sum and didn't want to eat the rest. Disappointing.

We won't be back or recommend to anyone.
