“Mediocre food.”

The Greek Fisherman
Ranked #58 of 1 194 Restaurants in Cape Town Central
Certificate of Excellence
Description: Here at the greek fisherman, we are proud of our roots, so expect traditional greek and mediterranean dishes. But, we also believe in moving with the times, so we've added a modern twist to our otherwise classic menu. Our cuisine includes greek & seafood specialities and we are famous for our greek meze, our souvla (spit roast) and our stunning lamb in the oven. Choose from over 20 meze, starters and tapas! Established in 1992, the greek fisherman is one of the original restaurants in the v&a waterfront and is still owned by the same owners as when the victoria wharf, waterfront opened in 1992. Take a seat and get a glorious view of table mountain while you enjoy delicious seafood and meats grilled over open charcoals.

Mediocre food. Prawns tasted like they had been cooked & then re-heated so they were actually overcooked. Mussels were small and tough. There are much better places to eat in Cape Town.

The restaurant offers a large courtyard, centered around a fountain for al fresco dining. They offer fresh seafood and authentic Greek cuisine operating since 1992. You can taste the flavors of the Mediterranean with charcoal grills, tender Calamari, prawns, sardines, and Kingklip. I enjoyed my meal and service.

With lovely outdoor seating in the heat of summer, this experience was very pleasant. The food was not excellent but was still one for the books. If you are looking for a halal friendly restaurant that serves up some mean Greek food, then this isn't a bad place to start.

Incredible, authentic Greek food for cheap money. We had lunch with drinks and only $22.00 USD. The service was perfect. The outdoor atmosphere was an A. The location was great to walk around Camps Bay and to Clifton Beach. The mussels with feta cheese is a must and the gyros are a must. I would highly recommend. A do not miss while in Cape Town.
